About the Role

Bajaj Capital is building modern transaction platforms for Fixed Deposits, NPS and Bonds digital buy and servicing journeys on the web, and a shared API layer used by our customer mobile app and Relationship Manager tools. As Technical Lead, you will own architecture and delivery of these platforms end to end, lead in-house developers and partner teams, code alongside them, and run an AI-native engineering practice where AI tools are used to build, test, deploy and operate the platforms.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Native Development & Delivery

- Build primarily with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or approved equivalents) across UI, API and infrastructure code; set up AI-ready repos with shared agent instructions (CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md), prompts and templates.
- Use AI for spec-driven development, issuer/CRA/exchange API mapping, test generation, PR review in CI, IaC and pipeline authoring, reconciliation break analysis, log analysis and incident RCA with human review and ownership of every change.
- Enforce AI guardrails: approved tools only, no customer data or secrets in prompts, no unattended merges or deploys, and extra scrutiny on money movement, calculations, ledgers and data access.

Product Transaction Journeys

- Fixed Deposits: bank and corporate FD comparison, booking via issuer APIs, KYC, payment, FD receipt, interest payouts, Form 15G/15H, renewals, premature withdrawal and maturity handling.
- NPS: PRAN onboarding, Tier I/II contributions, recurring contributions, scheme/fund manager changes, subscriber shifting and exit/withdrawal flows via CRA integrations (Protean, KFintech, CAMS).
- Bonds: bond discovery, pricing and yield/accrued-interest calculation, orders via exchange RFQ platforms,



settlement through clearing corporations, demat credit tracking, NCD public issues and coupon/redemption servicing.
- Build web journeys in React/Next.js (TypeScript) with a shared design system, SEO, Core Web Vitals, accessibility and funnel analytics.

Transaction Platform & APIs (Node.js)

- Design and build Node.js (NestJS/Fastify) APIs with OpenAPI contracts, reused by web, the customer mobile app and RM tools, with versioning and backward compatibility.
- Build the core transaction engine: order lifecycle and state machines, holdings and ledger, payments (UPI, net banking, NACH/e-mandates), and orchestration of long-running flows (e.g., AWS Step Functions).
- Engineer for financial correctness: idempotency, exactly-once order handling, maker-checker operations, automated daily reconciliation with issuers, CRAs, exchanges and payment gateways, and complete audit trails.

Team & Partner Leadership

- Lead in-house developers and partner/vendor teams as one unit: define scope, acceptance criteria and architecture guardrails; review all code to the same standard.
- Ensure Bajaj Capital owns code, IP and infrastructure, with documentation and knowledge transfer that prevents vendor lock-in.
- Mentor developers through pairing and reviews; own sprint planning and releases with Product, Operations and Business.

AWS, DevOps, Security & Compliance

- Own the AWS architecture (ECS Fargate/Lambda, API Gateway, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS/EventBridge, S3, KMS, WAF) in Indian regions, fully in Terraform/CDK, with CI/CD, observability and on-call.




- Build to OWASP ASVS/API Top 10; protect personal and financial data per the DPDP Act 2023 and SEBI CSCRF; meet SEBI (including the Online Bond Platform framework), PFRDA and RBI requirements with Compliance.
- Design for high availability, disaster recovery and cut-off-time accuracy for payments, orders and settlements.

Technology Stack

- Web: React, Next.js, TypeScript, design system, Playwright.
- Backend & AWS: Node.js, NestJS/Fastify, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQS/EventBridge, Step Functions, ECS/Lambda, Terraform/CDK, GitHub Actions.
- AI: Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, MCP integrations (Jira, GitHub, Figma, AWS), Amazon Bedrock.

Required Qualifications

- 8 to 12 years in software engineering, including 3+ years building production Node.js/TypeScript APIs and 3+ years with React/Next.js.
- Has built financial transaction systems orders, payments, ledgers and reconciliation in wealth, broking, banking, lending or payments.
- Hands-on AWS experience operating production workloads with infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
- Demonstrable experience shipping production software with AI coding agents, with concrete examples of workflows and results.
- 2+ years as a Tech Lead leading in-house and vendor/partner teams; still codes regularly.
- Robust grasp of API security, OAuth 2.0/OIDC and data protection. B.Tech/B.E./MCA in Computer Science or equivalent.

Good to Have

- Direct experience with NPS CRAs, corporate/bank FD issuer APIs, exchange RFQ/debt platforms, NSDL/CDSL or clearing corporation integrations.
- Fixed-income maths (yield, accrued interest, day-count conventions) and tax reporting (TDS, capital gains).
- LLM features in products (e.g., product comparison or servicing assistants on Amazon Bedrock) with evaluations and guardrails; AWS certification.

Success in the First Year

- FD, NPS and Bonds journeys live on web and consumed by mobile and RM channels, with zero unreconciled transactions and strong conversion.
- A single in-house plus partner team delivering through AI-assisted workflows, with full code ownership at Bajaj Capital.
