Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Python, FastAPI and AWS to lead the design, development and delivery of scalable software products.

The ideal candidate should have strong product development experience, excellent communication skills and a proven track record of working on large-scale engineering projects.

The candidate should be capable of providing strong technical leadership while remaining hands-on with Python backend development, FastAPI, AWS and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and contribute to the design, development and delivery of scalable software products.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain production-grade backend applications using Python and FastAPI.
- Design, deploy and manage scalable cloud solutions on AWS.
- Design and develop robust REST APIs and backend services.
- Participate in architecture, system design and technical discussions.
- Drive engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, security and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps and other stakeholders.
- Review technical solutions and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to their technical growth.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and production issues.
- Drive continuous improvement across development, deployment and engineering processes.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Python

- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Experience developing and maintaining production-grade applications.




- Strong understanding of application architecture, coding practices, debugging and performance optimization.

FastAPI

- Robust hands-on experience with FastAPI.
- Experience developing production-grade APIs and backend services using FastAPI.
- Strong understanding of REST API development.
- Experience with API design, authentication, validation, error handling and performance optimization.
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming in Python is preferred.

AWS

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
- Practical experience working with multiple AWS services.
- Experience with services such as:

- EC2
- ECS / EKS
- Lambda
- S3
- RDS
- DynamoDB
- VPC
- IAM
- API Gateway
- SQS / SNS
- CloudWatch
- CloudFront

- Solid understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, security and reliability.

Backend & API Development

- Strong experience developing backend applications and APIs using Python / FastAPI.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with GraphQL is an advantage.
- Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of API security, authentication and authorization.

Product Development Experience

- Strong experience working in a product development environment.
- Experience working on large-scale or complex software products/projects.
- Good understanding of the complete Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience working closely with Product, Engineering,



QA and DevOps teams.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Infrastructure / DevOps

- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment practices.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS is preferred.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Exposure to Terraform / Infrastructure as Code is an advantage but not mandatory.

Leadership & Communication

- Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.

Candidate Profile

- 9-15 years of overall software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Strong hands-on FastAPI experience.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience.
- Strong backend and API development experience.
- Good product development background.
- Experience working on sizeable engineering projects.
- Strong system design and architecture capabilities.
- Demonstrated career stability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model from Bengaluru.
- Must be available for a face-to-face interview.

Important Hiring Requirement

Candidates should be genuinely hands-on with Python, FastAPI and AWS and should be able to demonstrate their direct contribution to production applications, APIs, cloud architecture and technical decisions.

Candidates with strong technical leadership experience but limited recent hands-on experience in Python/FastAPI/AWS may not be suitable for this role.
