THE ROLE

This is a hands-on delivery appointment with real client exposure, not a back-office processing role. We are looking for a capable Finance Executive to join our high-performing global team and take ownership of the day-to-day finance work that keeps our client portfolios accurate, current, and audit-ready.

This role is designed for a finance professional in the early-to-middle part of their career who is ready to work directly on international client files rather than a single set of internal books. You will prepare the reconciliations, management accounts, payroll runs, and compliance workpapers that sit behind every client deliverable, working to Australian and international standards from day one.

You will report to the Finance Manager, who reviews and signs off your work before it reaches the client. That review cycle is the core of how you will develop here - you will receive direct, technical feedback on your output every month and be expected to act on it.

The role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, systems discipline, and client responsiveness. It is the entry point into our finance function and carries a defined progression pathway to Finance Manager for those who consistently deliver.

This is a role for someone who owns their deadlines, checks their own work before it is checked for them, and asks the question rather than guessing.





WHAT YOU LL DO

Core Finance Delivery

- Prepare monthly and periodic bookkeeping across an assigned group of client files - transaction coding, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close.
- Build draft management accounts, supporting schedules, and variance workpapers for Finance Manager review.
- Process payroll runs accurately and on schedule, including employee entitlements, applicable statutory contributions, and payroll reconciliations.
- Prepare BAS/IAS, GST, and other statutory reporting workpapers to a review-ready standard.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations across the portfolio.

Accuracy Quality

- Self-review every deliverable against a completeness and accuracy checklist before submitting it for Finance Manager sign-off.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences, coding errors, and data inconsistencies rather than carrying them forward.
- Maintain explicit, well-referenced workpapers so that any reviewer can follow your logic without needing to ask.
- Act on review feedback promptly and apply the correction across all comparable files, not just the one flagged.
- Escalate anything you cannot resolve within an agreed timeframe - early, with context, and with your own view of the likely cause.

Systems Process

- Work confidently in Xero and connected applications, maintaining clean chart of accounts structures and consistent coding conventions.
- Support client onboarding tasks - data migration, opening balance verification, and process documentation.
- Identify repetitive manual steps in your own workflow and propose automation or template improvements.
- Keep workflow trackers, checklists, and job status records current so portfolio visibility is never dependent on a verbal update.

Client Team Coordination

- Respond to routine client queries clearly and professionally within agreed turnaround times, escalating anything commercial or contentious to the Finance Manager.
- Request outstanding information from clients proactively rather than waiting until a deadline is at risk.
- Participate in client and internal meetings, taking accurate notes and following through on assigned actions.
- Record billable hours accurately against the correct client and task codes every day.




- Support colleagues during peak reporting periods and share what you learn back into the team.

WHAT WE RE LOOKING FOR

We are not just hiring a title. We are looking for a technically reliable finance professional , a careful self-reviewer , and someone with genuine appetite to grow .

- Part qualified (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) with active progress towards completion, or a degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2+ years in a finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting role.
- Sound technical grounding in double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
- Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms - Xero strongly preferred - and solid working Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables.
- Demonstrated accuracy under deadline pressure, with a track record of work that stands up to review.
- Clear written and verbal English, sufficient to correspond directly with Australian, UK, or US clients.
- Receptive to detailed technical feedback and able to apply it consistently thereafter.
- Organised and self-directed - you track your own deadlines rather than relying on reminders.
- Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision as part of a distributed team.

Desirable

- Prior experience servicing Australian, UK, or US clients, including exposure to BAS/IAS, GST, or equivalent compliance regimes.
- Experience in an outsourced accounting, BPO, or professional services environment handling multiple client entities.
- Exposure to payroll across more than one jurisdiction.
- Familiarity with local government, not-for-profit, or grant-funded client environments.
