HITEC is looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer Civil with robust knowledge of civil construction quality standards and practical experience in high-rise residential and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in RCC, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, finishing works, material testing, inspection, documentation, and quality-control procedures. The candidate will be responsible for implementing QA/QC systems, monitoring construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and applicable IS Codes, and maintaining comprehensive quality records.

Key Responsibilities

QA/QC Implementation

- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures and quality-control systems at project sites.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for construction activities and materials.
- Monitor site activities to ensure strict compliance with defined quality requirements.
- Identify potential quality issues and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.

Civil Construction Quality Inspection

- Conduct regular quality inspections and visual inspections of ongoing construction activities.
- Monitor quality of:
- RCC works
- Reinforcement
- Formwork / Shuttering
- Concrete works
- Masonry
- Plastering
- Waterproofing
- Flooring
- Finishing works
- Other civil construction activities

- Ensure workmanship and construction activities meet approved quality standards.
- Raise quality observations and flags where required to prevent defects and rework.

Material Inspection & Testing

- Inspect all raw materials and construction materials delivered to site before use.
- Ensure materials conform to approved specifications and relevant standards.
- Coordinate routine testing of:
- Cement
- Aggregates
- Concrete
- Steel / reinforcement
- Bricks / blocks
- Other construction materials

- Coordinate with in-house teams, subcontractors, and testing agencies for material testing.
- Review and verify material test certificates received from suppliers.
- Ensure all required tests are conducted as per applicable IS Codes and project specifications.

Concrete & RCC Quality Control





- Monitor concrete production, placement, compaction, curing, and related activities.
- Ensure required concrete tests are conducted as per specifications.
- Monitor reinforcement placement, cover, spacing, laps, anchorage, and related quality requirements.
- Inspect formwork and shuttering before concrete pouring.
- Ensure RCC works comply with approved drawings and specifications.

Calibration & Testing Equipment

- Verify the calibration status of testing and measuring instruments.
- Maintain records of calibration certificates.
- Ensure testing equipment is suitable and calibrated as per applicable requirements.
- Coordinate with laboratories and testing agencies for required testing activities.

Documentation & Records

- Maintain complete and updated records of the QA/QC department as per the latest project schedule and quality requirements.
- Maintain records of:
- Material inspections
- Test reports
- Inspection requests
- Quality observations
- Non-conformities
- Corrective actions
- Calibration certificates
- Material approvals
- Site inspection records

- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for quality inspections and testing activities.
- Ensure quality records are properly organized and readily available for audits and reviews.

Non-Conformity & Corrective Action

- Identify, document, and manage non-conformities and quality-related issues.
- Recommend and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up with site teams and subcontractors to ensure timely closure of quality observations.
- Monitor recurring quality issues and recommend measures to prevent repetition.

Coordination

- Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding day-to-day QA/QC activities.
- Work closely with site engineers, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and testing agencies.




- Coordinate inspection and testing activities with construction teams.
- Ensure quality requirements are communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders.

Reporting

- Prepare regular and monthly QA/QC reports covering inspections, tests, observations, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
- Summarize site quality reports and prepare Key Point Indicators / Key Quality Indicators for submission to Quality Managers.
- Highlight major quality concerns, trends, and areas requiring management attention.

Required Qualification & Experience

- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
- Experience in high-rise residential and commercial construction is preferred.
- Strong practical experience in civil structures, RCC, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, and finishing works.
- Good knowledge of construction material testing and quality-control procedures.
