Each team member is trained to exceed Australian business standards, ensuring quality and consistency from day one.
We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to building inclusive, client-focused teams that consistently exceed expectations.
THE ROLE
This is a management appointment with genuine portfolio ownership, not a processing role. We are looking for an exceptional Finance Manager to join our high-performing global team and take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of client engagements, the quality of what we deliver, and the people who deliver it.
This role is designed for a finance skilled who has already proven themselves at Assistant Manager or Manager level and is ready to hold full accountability for client outcomes. You will manage delivery teams, own client reporting cycles end to end, and act as the primary day-to-day finance contact for the clients in your portfolio.
You will report to the Senior Manager - Finance Commercial and work closely with the Director on engagement health, commercial performance, and the systems that keep delivery consistent as the firm scales. The role sits at the intersection of technical finance, client relationship management, and team leadership - and is reserved for candidates who can operate confidently across all three.
This is a role for someone who takes ownership of the numbers, the deadlines, and the relationship - without waiting to be told.
WHAT YOU LL DO
Client Delivery Relationship Management
- Own the day-to-day finance relationship across an assigned portfolio of clients,
acting as their trusted first point of contact on reporting, cash flow, compliance, and performance.
- Lead the monthly and periodic reporting cycle end to end - management accounts, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and board-ready commentary delivered on time, every time.
- Run regular client meetings, prepare agendas and follow-ups, and ensure every action is captured, assigned, and closed out.
- Identify scope creep, additional service opportunities, and at-risk accounts early, and escalate the commercial implications promptly to the Senior Manager.
- Support the engagement letter and quoting process with accurate scoping, hours estimation, and fee justification.
Technical Finance Quality
- Review and sign off on the work of Finance Executives and delivery staff before it reaches the client, holding all output to an audit-ready international standard.
- Oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, BAS/IAS and statutory reporting workflows across the portfolio, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead client onboarding - chart of accounts design, system setup, data migration, and process documentation.
- Drive efficiency through finance systems, integrations, and automation, with a strong emphasis on Xero and connected applications.
- Resolve technical and reconciliation issues proactively, protecting both the client outcome and the firm s professional reputation.
Team Performance Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Finance Executives and delivery staff, holding them accountable to KPIs, quality standards, and turnaround times.
- Train team members on technical capability, client communication, and career progression pathways.
- Plan workload and capacity across concurrent client deadlines to ensure complete coverage and continuity.
- Contribute to recruitment, induction, and retention within the finance function.
Operational Reporting Oversight
- Provide clear, concise, decision-ready internal reporting to the Senior Manager and Director on portfolio health and delivery performance.
- Maintain and enforce MIS, workflow, and documentation systems that give full visibility across all client work at any point in time.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that reduce rework and improve delivery consistency.
- Ensure billable hours are accurately recorded and that team-level utilisation and billable targets are met.
WHAT WE RE LOOKING FOR
We are not just hiring a title. We are looking for a capable manager , a technically sharp finance professional , and a dependable client partner .
- Fully or part qualified (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) - full qualification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years in a Finance Manager or Assistant Manager role and 8+ years in finance overall, preferably in consulting, advisory, outsourcing, or multinational business environments.
- Demonstrated track record of managing multiple client portfolios or entities simultaneously against firm deadlines.
- Strong technical grounding in management accounting, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, payroll, and statutory reporting.
- Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms - Xero strongly preferred - and confidence with Excel to an advanced standard.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, particularly with Western clients.
- Proven ability to review others work critically and give constructive, developmental feedback.
- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and a feedback-driven mindset - open to coaching and committed to growth.
- Operationally minded - comfortable improving processes and systems, not just working within them.

- Prior experience servicing Australian, UK, or US clients, including familiarity with BAS/IAS, GST, or equivalent compliance regimes.
- Exposure to local government, not-for-profit, or grant-funded client environments.
