Education Qualification

M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical / Thermal / Automotive / Energy Systems Engineering or related engineering discipline.

(Good academic understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and numerical methods is required)

Required Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in CFD / thermal simulation for automotive or EV applications.

(Experience in EV thermal system simulation, battery / electronics cooling, liquid cooling circuit analysis, transient thermal analysis and simulation-test correlation will be preferred)

Role Description

Job Purpose:

- Responsible for CFD and thermal simulation of vehicle systems and components to support product design, cooling system development, performance prediction and validation.
- The role focuses on modelling real-world vehicle operating conditions, evaluating thermal and flow performance, identifying hotspots and design risks, supporting design improvements, and correlating simulation results with bench / vehicle test data.

Responsibilities

- Perform steady-state and transient CFD / thermal simulations for vehicle systems and components.
- Simulate and evaluate thermal and flow performance of battery pack, motor, motor controller / inverter, DC-DC converter, charger, i-VCU / electronic control units, display and other electronic modules.
- Evaluate cooling concepts such as natural / forced air cooling, liquid cooling,



heat sinks, cold plates, fans, ducts and thermal interface materials.
- Support cooling system sizing, coolant / air flow distribution, pressure drop, heat rejection, fan / pump performance and thermal uniformity studies.
- Convert vehicle operating conditions into simulation inputs such as city drive cycle, high-speed operation, hill climb, rapid charging, high ambient condition, soak and restart condition.
- Identify hotspot locations, weak cooling regions and thermal risk areas in components and systems.
- Provide design inputs for cooling layout, duct design, heat sink design, radiator sizing, pump / fan selection, thermal interface selection and sensor locations.
- Define appropriate assumptions, boundary conditions, material properties, heat loads and convergence criteria for simulations.
- Correlate simulation results with bench, component and vehicle test data and improve model accuracy.
- Prepare simulation reports with assumptions, boundary conditions, results, limitations and clear engineering recommendations.
- Support design reviews and guide design improvements based on simulation outcomes.
- Maintain simulation models, templates, checklists and learnings for standardisation and reuse across projects.
