.Role & responsibilities:
- Inpatient and Outpatient Care: Conduct daily hospital rounds in general wards and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) to manage acutely or chronically ill patients.
- Diagnosis and Evaluation: Diagnose conditions such as Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Glomerulonephritis, Nephrotic Syndrome, and diabetic/hypertensive nephropathy.
- Renal Procedures: Perform and supervise procedures including diagnostic kidney biopsies, temporary/permanent dialysis catheter placements, and AV fistula evaluations.
- Dialysis Management: Oversee and prescribe Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for critical care patients.
- Kidney Transplantation: Evaluate donors and recipients, manage pre-transplant workups, and provide long-term post-transplant immunosuppressive and medical care.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with urologists,
critical care specialists, renal dietitians, and transplant surgeons to deliver comprehensive care.
- Consultations: Provide expert renal consultations to emergency, cardiology, and other hospital departments
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: MBBS followed by an MD/DNB in General Medicine, culminating in a super-specialty DM (Nephrology) degree (or equivalent Fellowship/DNB Nephrology).
- Licensure: Valid state medical council registration and active board certification/specialty recognition.
- Skills: High-level clinical decision-making, procedural competency (biopsies, dialysis access), emergency resuscitation skills for severe electrolyte/acid-base crises, and patient/family communication.
