Job Description: Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing and Procurement Specialist to manage day-to-day indirect purchasing activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full sourcing / procurement lifecycle—from Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) execution—ensuring compliance with GE Vernova sourcing policies while driving cost-saving initiatives and maintaining robust supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Procurement Lifecycle Management: Review and validate Purchase Requisitions (PRs), including commercial terms, cost break-ups, and documentation. Execute the PR-to-PO process and ensure timely approvals.
- Cost & Contract Management: Implement cost-saving strategies through skilled negotiation. Draft, review, and maintain supplier contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Supplier Relationship & Onboarding: Identify new suppliers, conduct due diligence, and manage the onboarding process.



Maintain accurate supplier records and ensure compliance, including EHS approvals via platforms like ComplyWorks.
- Operational Support: Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies in coordination with end-users and educate stakeholders on internal Indirect Sourcing policies and procedures.
- Reporting & Compliance: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in SAP or OSCAR, and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- System Adaptability: Ability to quickly master GE Vernova-specific sourcing and procurement tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Core Competencies: Proven ability to negotiate, draft contracts, and manage stakeholder relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in the Manufacturing / Construction sectors.
- Residency in Chennai with proximity to the Pallavaram office location.
