Job Overview

True Care Hospital invites applications for the position of Consultant Paediatrician for its new hospital project in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

The selected consultant will play a key role in establishing and developing the Paediatrics department while providing comprehensive care for newborns, infants, children and adolescents. We are seeking a compassionate and clinically competent skilled with experience in independently managing paediatric consultations, inpatient care, newborn care and paediatric emergencies.

The consultant will work closely with the Obstetrics & Gynaecology, anaesthesia, nursing and other clinical teams. Anaesthesia services and an emergency operating theatre will be available to support multidisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide outpatient consultations, inpatient care and regular ward rounds for paediatric patients.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic childhood illnesses, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal conditions, nutritional deficiencies and infectious diseases.
- Independently assess and manage paediatric emergencies, initiate stabilisation and arrange timely referral when required.
- Attend deliveries when clinically indicated and provide immediate newborn assessment and resuscitation.




- Provide routine newborn care and manage common neonatal conditions within available hospital facilities.
- Monitor childrens growth, development and nutritional status, and identify concerns requiring further evaluation.
- Provide immunisation services and counsel parents on vaccination, nutrition, breastfeeding, hygiene and preventive healthcare.
- Develop individualised treatment plans and communicate clearly with parents and caregivers.
- Coordinate with the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team to support maternity and newborn services.
- Participate in emergency duties and the hospitals on-call roster.
- Support the establishment of the department through clinical protocol development, service planning and staff training.
- Guide nursing and junior clinical staff in paediatric assessment, newborn care and emergency response.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes and discharge summaries.
- Participate in clinical audits, case reviews and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure timely referral of children and newborns who require specialist or intensive care beyond the hospital’s available services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- MBBS with MD/DNB in Paediatrics from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the relevant medical council.
- Demonstrated experience in independently managing paediatric outpatient consultations,



inpatient cases and emergencies.
- Competence in newborn assessment, neonatal resuscitation and management of common neonatal conditions.
- Experience in growth and developmental assessment, childhood nutrition and immunisation.
- Previous experience in a consultant role is preferred.
- Training in neonatal resuscitation and paediatric advanced life support is desirable.
- Experience in developing a clinical department or working in a newly established hospital would be an advantage.

Compensation and Support

- Annual CTC of 20–30 lakh, depending on qualifications, experience and expertise.
