Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Head of Accounts & Finance with a strong background in the stock broking or financial services industry. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong financial expertise, leadership capabilities, and an understanding of the accounting and regulatory requirements applicable to stock broking businesses.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Accounting & Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate books of accounts, monthly and annual financial statements, MIS reports, and management reporting.
- Treasury Management: Manage fund flows, liquidity, banking relationships, cash management, and working capital requirements.
- Stock Broking Operations: Handle accounting and financial processes related to broking operations, including settlement accounting, client funds, broker funds, and reconciliation with exchanges and clearing corporations.
- Regulatory & Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely compliance with applicable requirements of SEBI, NSE, BSE, clearing corporations, GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other relevant authorities.
- Audit & Controls: Coordinate statutory, internal,



and tax audits; strengthen internal financial controls and ensure audit observations are resolved.
- Taxation: Oversee GST, TDS, advance tax, income tax returns, and other applicable tax compliances.
- Budgeting & Business Planning: Develop annual budgets, financial projections, cost optimisation strategies, and profitability analysis.
- Reconciliation & Risk Management: Monitor bank reconciliations, ledger balances, inter-company transactions, client-related balances, and financial discrepancies.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Accounts & Finance team, establish effective processes, and ensure accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
- Management Support: Work closely with senior management on financial strategy, business performance, expansion plans, and financial decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- CA preferred; candidates with a solid relevant finance qualification and substantial industry experience may also be considered.
- Around 10 15+ years of experience in Accounts & Finance, preferably with a stock broking firm or financial services organisation.
- Prior experience in a senior finance leadership role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and regulatory compliance.
- Practical experience in stock broking accounting, exchange-related reconciliations, settlement processes, and audit management.
- Proficiency in Excel, accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
