Key Job Responsibilities

Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the Strategic Purchasing, Procurement & Planning of chemical additives. The role includes ownership of supplier relationship

management, supplier performance evaluations, contract management, and commercial negotiations to ensure a competitive, reliable, and sustainable supply base.

Requires strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of the different process flows, to be able to 'debottleneck' if necessary and continuously improve the efficiency of

the procurement processes in order to boost productivity.

Responsible to keep all business documents relevant for the function up to date as well as all documents related to the supplier qualification process, maintains and

cultivates HSEQ-SD standards and certifications and helps obtaining newly desired certificates when applicable.

1. Demand & Supply Planning :

a. Back-up for Raw material planning based on Forecast & Production Planning. Defines & maintain stock

parameters (incl. safety stocks) taking lead times, MOQ & shelf life into consideration.

b. Manages supplier communication, releasing of purchase orders, ensuring the material availability on time and in

coordination with production. .

c. Identifies supply risks, escalates issues and ensures clear communication to mitigate the risks.

2. Procurement within assigned domain.

a. It includes pricing administration (maintaining source lists & inforecords) and follow-up of quality/safety/environment

issues. This also includes follow-up of approvals of current suppliers.

b. Control and follow-up of invoices (product supplies, logistics, demurrage, surveying).

c. Administration of planned deliveries and purchases.

d. Non-conformity coordination,



recording of supplier penalty points during daily operations and establishing supplier

performance evaluations together with other team members.

3. Strategic Purchasing scope :

a. Collection of Market intelligence, like tracking of Raw material prices, fluctuations etc and providing information to all

stakeholders.

b. Leads supplier sourcing, introduction, initial assessment of new suppliers, qualification, onboarding and actively working with

suppliers to ensure expected performance as per Organisation Standards.

c. Manages strong supplier relationships, contracts and commercial agreements, including leading price, terms and conditions

negotiations to secure optimal value, service and supply continuity for company

d. Makes sure that all HSEQ-SD status reports, the Supplier database are updated and followed and that the corresponding status is

maintained in the Supplier Qualification Overview file.

e. Ensures clear and smooth flow of communication within the Organisation

4. Product (Commercial Project) Coordination

a. Responsible for commercial project coordination according to good project management principles, materials and BOMs creation

and maintenance in internal Excel tools.

b. Work collaboratively with Sales, ... to identify impact of product changes. Arrange regular project meetings, resolve any issues,

review project variations and administer changes.

Act as back-up for Assistant Manager Commerical - India and other team members in the event of absence for MEG,

packaging, logistics sourcing & delivery related matters.

6. Miscellaneous projects defined in PMP.

1) Educational background: University education : Graduation in business or chemistry.

2) Experience : Minimum 10-12-years experience in procurement or supply chain role working with suppliers (preferred in the chemical industry )

3) Accuracy and good use of IT tools (strong excel capability and preference for candiate with experince in an ERP Environment)

4) Good understanding of forecasting and production planning, ability to optimize inventory levels

5) Strong problem-solving skills and proactive identification and mitigation of supply risk to ensure business continuity

6) Familiarity with quality Systems

7) Strong communication skills and a very good command of the English language

8) Ability to travel

9) Ability to work in a matrix type organization structure

5) Internal stakeholders supported: Supply Chain (both within India, but also in Belgium and China), Sales, Technology (interaction with local as well as Belgium & China

Colleagues), HSEQSD, Finance & IT, Sales, Product & Marketing Management,

6) Process ownership responsibilities: Supplier Management, MRP, KPI Follow-up (incl. OTIF &, NCs), Stock Parameter Management, DoA/SoD Compliance
