Roles & Responsibilities

- End-to-end mechanical design of Package Substations, outdoor enclosures, and associated equipment.
- Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Creo.
- Design equipment layouts considering accessibility, maintainability, ventilation, safety clearances, and installation requirements.
- Develop and improve existing designs for standardisation, quality, speed, and cost optimisation.
- Design recent substation structures and enclosure solutions based on customer-specific requirements.
- Select suitable structural materials, sheet metal components, steel grades, coatings, and corrosion protection systems.
- Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings with GD&T; and applicable fabrication standards.
- Support seismic, vibration, and FEA activities through technical documentation and engineering data.
- Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, project, and global engineering teams during design reviews and industrialisation.
- Collaborate with teams across India, UK, and Australia for international projects and product development.




- Preferred Candidate

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Strong experience in Package Substations, Electrical Enclosures, Switchgear Assemblies, Transformer Installations, E-Houses, Skids, or Structural Steel Systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Creo 3D modelling, assembly design, and drawing generation.
- Experience with sheet metal, welding, machining, and structural steel fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, structural design, and corrosion protection.
- Experience designing structures for outdoor/harsh environmental conditions.
- Knowledge of IEC 62271-202 is preferred.
- Exposure to FEA/simulation, lifting standards, and transportation design requirements would be an added advantage.
- Should be capable of independently developing new concepts and working effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
