Role Purpose

The Sr. Manager Security will be responsible for the effective supervision, coordination and monitoring of security operations, with specific focus on female student safety, girls' hostels, academic and residential areas, and other designated campus locations. The role will support the Provost Marshal and the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in ensuring a safe, secure, disciplined and well-monitored campus setting. The incumbent will provide operational leadership to female security personnel, coordinate with hostel and student-affairs functionaries, monitor security protocols, respond to incidents and ensure timely escalation of security concerns. The position requires strong leadership, alertness, discipline, confidentiality, effective communication and the ability to handle sensitive situations involving female students with professionalism and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

A. Female Student & Hostel Security

- Ensure effective security coverage and supervision across girls' hostels, female residential areas and other designated sensitive locations.
- Monitor the deployment and performance of female security personnel and ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
- Conduct regular security inspections and identify vulnerabilities, gaps and areas requiring corrective action.
- Ensure strict implementation of entry, exit, visitor, access-control and identification protocols in girls' hostels.
- Coordinate with Hostel Wardens and Student Affairs teams on matters concerning student safety and security.
- Maintain heightened vigilance during late-night hours, student movement, events, examinations and other high footfall periods.
- Ensure appropriate security arrangements during movement of students outside hostels and during university events.

B. Security Operations & Supervision

- Supervise day-to-day security operations assigned by the Provost Marshal/CSO.
- Monitor security personnel deployment, attendance, discipline, conduct and adherence to assigned duties.
- Ensure that security personnel follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), instructions and protocols.
- Conduct regular rounds and surprise inspections of designated areas.
- Review security posts, manpower deployment and shift arrangements and recommend improvements where required.
- Ensure security equipment, communication systems, access-control mechanisms and other security infrastructure are functional and appropriately utilized.

C. Incident Management & Emergency Response

- Act as an immediate operational escalation point for security incidents involving female students and designated areas.
- Respond promptly to incidents including unauthorized entry, misconduct, altercations, missing persons, suspicious activity,



medical emergencies, fire/safety incidents and other security concerns.
- Ensure immediate containment, protection of students and escalation of serious incidents to the Provost Marshal/CSO and concerned authorities.
- Maintain accurate incident records and ensure timely submission of incident reports.
- Support emergency response and crisis-management arrangements as directed by senior security leadership.
- Coordinate with medical, hostel, discipline, student-care and administrative teams during emergencies.

D. Student Safety & Security Protocols

- Ensure sensitive and student-facing security situations are handled with professionalism, dignity, confidentiality and appropriate communication.
- Ensure security personnel maintain appropriate conduct and language while interacting with students, parents, visitors and University staff.
- Monitor compliance with student identification, visitor management and access-control procedures.
- Identify potential risks to female students and recommend preventive security measures.
- Support awareness initiatives related to campus safety, emergency procedures and reporting mechanisms.

E. Coordination with University Departments

- Maintain close coordination with the Provost Marshal, Chief Security Officer, Hostel Administration and Wardens,
- Department of Student Affairs & Administration, Student Care/Student Welfare teams, Dean/Department responsible for Discipline, Medical/Health Services, Administration and other concerned departments.
- Coordinate security arrangements for university events, VIP visits, student activities and other special programmes.
- Ensure appropriate security coordination during incidents requiring multidisciplinary intervention.

F. Reporting, Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly security reports as required.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, deployment, security observations and corrective actions.
- Escalate significant security incidents immediately through the prescribed reporting channel.
- Track pending security observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Assist in security audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Provide data and reports required for management reviews and security governance.

G. Security Personnel Management

- Guide and supervise female security officers,



supervisors and guards assigned to designated areas.
- Monitor discipline, punctuality, grooming, alertness and professional conduct of security personnel.
- Identify training requirements and recommend appropriate training programmer.
- Conduct regular briefings and toolbox meetings for security personnel.
- Ensure proper handover/takeover between shifts and continuity of security coverage.
- Recommend manpower, deployment and operational improvements to the CSO/Provost Marshal.

H. Security Risk Assessment & Preventive Measures

- Conduct periodic security risk assessments of girls' hostels and other designated areas. Identify blind spots, access-control gaps, lighting deficiencies, CCTV coverage issues and other potential vulnerabilities.
- Recommend preventive measures and follow up on implementation.
- Support periodic review and strengthening of security SOPs and emergency protocols.
- Maintain awareness of emerging security risks affecting students and campus operations.

Educational Qualification Experience

- Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
- Qualification/certification in Security Management, Defense Studies, Police Administration, Disaster Management,
- Risk Management or a related field will be an advantage.
- Candidates with relevant experience in Armed Forces, JCOs, Police, Para-military Forces, Government Security
- Services or large institutional/corporate security operations will be preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in security operations, campus/institutional security, defense, police, para-military, hospitality, healthcare, corporate or large-scale facility security.
- Demonstrated experience in supervisory/managerial security roles.
- Experience in managing security operations involving female personnel, residential facilities, hostels, educational institutions or other sensitive environments will be preferred.
- Experience in incident management, emergency response, security audits and manpower deployment will be an advantage.
