Role & responsibilities
- Ensure equipment stability and smooth maintenance operations during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate with the Production team for Preventive Maintenance (PM) planning and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities.
- Plan and allocate shift manpower effectively across maintenance requirements.
- Supervise Assistant Shift Supervisors and maintenance team members to ensure secure and efficient operations.
- Monitor shift-wise maintenance activities, breakdowns, production losses and equipment-related rejection issues.
- Analyze critical equipment breakdowns and downtime incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate daily shift handovers, maintenance reporting, attendance and manpower planning.
- Ensure timely closure of maintenance work orders and notification entries through SAP.
- Assess shift-wise and machine-wise spare requirements and support spare planning/inventory management.
- Drive Kaizen, continuous improvement and Lean Maintenance initiatives.
- Develop and update SOPs and work instructions to ensure standardized maintenance practices.
- Ensure 5S standards and a safe, clean and organized shop-floor environment.
- Support ISO / IMS audit requirements and maintain relevant maintenance documentation.
- Train and develop team members on safety, operational and maintenance standards.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, statutory regulations, Life Saving Rules and applicable SOPs.
Preferred candidate profile
4+ years of experience as an Equipment Engineer / Maintenance Engineer, preferably in manufacturing.
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance operations.
Experience in Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), breakdown analysis and root-cause analysis.
Strong manpower planning, shift handling and team supervision skills.
Hands-on experience with SAP for maintenance work orders and notifications.
Good knowledge of PLCs, PCs, Robotics and equipment control systems would be advantageous.
Knowledge of Electropneumatic and Vacuum systems would be an added advantage.
Exposure to automation manufacturing processes and plant start-up experience preferred.
Experience in Solar / Semiconductor manufacturing would be advantageous.
Exposure to Lean Maintenance System development and Kaizen initiatives preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and team-building skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email and basic computer applications.
Strong focus on safety, quality, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
Self-motivated, hands-on and proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to work in shifts, off-shifts and extended hours as required.
