- Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Candidates from Electrical Engineering background may also be considered based on relevant mechanical design experience.
Experience
- Around 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design/product design.
- Experience in power electronics, electrical equipment, panels, enclosures, or industrial products will be preferred.
Job Responsibilities
1. Mechanical Design & Product Development
- Design and develop mechanical assemblies for power electronics products.
- Design mechanical components for heat dissipation and airflow management.
- Develop mechanical solutions for electrical/electronic products and assemblies.
- Design mechanical casings, panel enclosures, cabinets, chassis and consoles.
- Ensure proper installation, fitment and assembly of mechanical and electrical components.
2. CAD & Engineering Drawings
- Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using Creo and AutoCAD.
- Develop part drawings, assembly drawings and manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare drawings according to appropriate DIN/IS standards, drawing practices, dimensions, scaling and tolerances.
- Review drawings to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
3. BOM & Production Coordination
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with production/manufacturing teams for smooth implementation of designs.
- Resolve mechanical design and manufacturing-related issues.
- Support production during installation, assembly and fitment activities.
- Ensure First Time Right implementation and minimize rework.
4. Mechanical & Manufacturing Knowledge
- Positive knowledge of mechanical characteristics of metals and non-metals.
- Understanding of sheet-metal components, structures and load-carrying members.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication and heat-treatment processes.
- Understanding of component selection based on strength, weight, thermal requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
- Knowledge of relevant mechanical suppliers and market-available components.
5. Thermal & Airflow Management
- Design and integrate heat sinks, cooling arrangements, ventilation systems and airflow paths.
- Ensure effective heat dissipation for power-electronics equipment.
