Job Description: Design Head

We are looking for a Design Head to establish a creative vision for the company's product design and branding. Your primary responsibility would be to manage the design process from conception to delivery, ensuring that the designs reflect the company's focus on sustainability, local sourcing and seasonality. As part of this role, you would manage the design team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelors or master’s degree in design,
- Experience: 10-15+ years in crushing and screening design, with a solid portfolio showcasing diverse work and proven leadership experience.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to align design efforts with business objectives, user experience (UX/UI) principles, and market trends.
- Leadership/Soft Skills: Excellent communication, mentorship, and project management skills.
- Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a cohesive design vision and strategy that enhances brand identity across all products and platforms. The primarily duty of a Head is to oversee multiple projects and ensure their timely completion and within the set budget while meeting the highest quality standards. This requires effective project scoping, resource allocation and budgeting. Project management skills allow you to improve project outcomes and ensure they align with clients' expectations.
- Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, conducting regular reviews and fostering a culture of innovation. Using a project management tool that allows you to assign tasks, define timelines and monitor progress. Prioritising tasks by identifying ones that are critical or have strict deadlines. Delegating tasks effectively.



Having good leadership skills helps you motivate the team to work towards a common goal, build trust amongst team members and improve employee morale. It also helps you encourage a sense of purpose in the workplace so that people find meaning and joy in their work.
- Project Oversight: Supervise the design process from concept to final execution, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints. As a Head, you may work with multiple teams and external clients and manage projects with different timelines. Having good organisational skills can help you oversee multiple projects from their inception until completion.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure consistent user experience and visual language. As a Head, you oversee multiple departments, including design, branding and research to create these designs. A primary aspect of this role is to create a space that encourages different teams to share ideas, collaborate on improving designs and share constructive feedback.
- Design Excellence: Review and improve design quality with cost effective solution, maintaining high standards and staying updated with industry trends. You may work with multiple software, including design, prototyping, project management and 3D modelling, as part of your role. companies may require you to have experience using analytics tools to track the performance of the different designs and user behaviour. Knowing how to use media management tools can also give you a competitive advantage during your job. Hands-on experience with different software can help you adapt quickly to a new one.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts to senior leadership and clients, incorporating feedback to refine designs.
