To lead the end-to-end warehouse and material handling operations for raw materials, components, WIP, finished goods, packaging materials and export shipments, ensuring 100% material availability to production, high inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, damage-free handling and on-time domestic/export dispatches.

The GM Warehouse will be responsible for building a digitally enabled, lean and cost-effective warehouse operation capable of supporting JIT/JIS manufacturing and international customers in the USA and Europe.

Role & responsibilities

1). Warehouse Operations

- Lead end-to-end warehouse operations covering:
- Raw material
- Bought-out components
- WIP
- Finished goods

- Develop standardized warehouse processes across multiple plants/locations.
- Ensure systematic receiving, inspection, put-away, storage, picking, kitting and dispatch.
- Implement FIFO and batch/lot-wise traceability.
- Ensure optimum utilization of warehouse space and storage capacity.
- Establish bin-location, rack-location and material-identification systems.

2). Production Material Availability

- Ensure 100% availability of materials to production as per production plan.
- Develop line-side material supply systems.
- Implement JIT, Kanban, supermarket and milk-run concepts wherever applicable.
- Coordinate closely with PPC, Production, Purchase and Quality.

3). Export Warehouse & International Logistics

A key responsibility for this role should be export warehouse management for USA and European customers .Export Responsibilities

- Manage export finished-goods warehouse and dispatch operations.
- Ensure export orders are picked, packed and dispatched according to customer schedules.




- Coordinate with:
- Export/Commercial
- Customer Service
- Freight Forwarders

4). Inventory Management

Maintain high inventory accuracy, preferably 99.5%.

- Drive cycle-counting and perpetual inventory systems.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Control:
- Excess inventory
- Slow-moving inventory
- Non-moving inventory

5). Warehouse Management System / Digitalization

- Lead implementation and effective utilization of SAP.
- Integrate warehouse operations with SAP wherever applicable.
- Implement barcode/RFID-based material tracking.
- Introduce real-time inventory visibility.
- Develop digital dashboards

- Drive automation through:
- Barcode scanning
- RFID
- AGVs/AMRs
- Automated storage systems

6). Packaging & Material Handling

- Develop appropriate packaging standards for domestic and export customers.
- Ensure returnable packaging management.

7). Cost Management

Drive continuous reduction in warehouse and logistics costs

8). 3PL & Vendor Management

9). Quality & Compliance

10). Safety & EHS

The role will work closely with:Production | PPC | Purchase | Quality | Finance | Sales | Export | Commercial | Engineering | Maintenance | EHS | IT | Customer Service | Logistics Providers

The position should act as the central link between material availability, manufacturing and customer delivery.

Preferred candidate profile

- Should have 15+ years of experience in logistics / supply chain roles from Auto components industry.
- Candidates having MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics would be preferred.
