Role & responsibilities
- Own the complete Quantity Surveying and commercial lifecycle of infrastructure/industrial projects from estimation and budgeting to final account closure.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis, estimates and project cost baselines based on drawings, specifications and site conditions.
- Develop project-wise cost plans, billing milestones, cash-flow projections and QS execution calendars.
- Handle tendering activities including tender floating, comparative statements, contractor/vendor evaluation, rate validation and negotiations.
- Scrutinize and certify subcontractor RA bills, verify measurements, BOQ quantities, contract rates, deductions, retention, advances and recoveries.
- Monitor actual project cost vs. approved budget, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage material reconciliation for key materials such as steel, cement, aggregates and other high-value materials.
- Identify and process variations, claims, scope changes and commercial risks, including rate escalation and quantity overruns.
- Maintain project-wise variation and claims registers and support preparation/defence of contractual claims.
- Coordinate with Projects, Planning, Procurement, Finance, QA/QC and site teams to ensure accurate commercial and cost information.
- Prepare weekly commercial status reports, monthly cost-to-complete and cash-flow MIS, and quarterly project/portfolio reviews for senior management.
- Present project-wise profitability,
forecast final cost and commercial risks to the HOD Projects.
- Drive final measurement, final bill certification, settlement of subcontractor accounts and project cost closure.
- Standardise QS formats, measurement procedures, billing templates and commercial processes across projects.
- Guide and review the work of site QS and billing engineers and ensure consistency in measurement and commercial practices.
- Maintain corporate rate libraries, historical cost databases, BOQs, contracts, measurement records and variation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IS Codes, CPWD/MoRTH/client-specific measurement standards and contractual conditions.
- Apply knowledge of FIDIC and standard Indian contract conditions, claims and contractual correspondence.
- Use Advanced MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera and ERP/QS software such as SAP, Candy, CostX or equivalent.
- Candidate should have working knowledge of Power BI, particularly for preparing/understanding a single consolidated project-wise dashboard/report covering multiple projects.
- Travel to Kandla, Mundra and other project sites will be required periodically.
Education Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering Preferred/Mandatory
- Diploma in Civil Engineering candidates may be considered if they possess robust and relevant Quantity Surveying experience.
Civil + 8-14 years + Infrastructure/Industrial/EPC + End-to-End QS + Corporate/Multi-project exposure + Power BI.
