Job Summary
PRD / SMDD Bangalore has an exciting opportunity for an Advisor / Sr Advisor - Synthetic Molecule Analytical Chemistry to join our multidisciplinary team of chemists and engineers. The individual will have technical oversight of key process development activities performed at a strategic Indian contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). The individual will act as the technical bridge between Lilly scientists and the CDMO, review influence CDMO strategies, ensure alignment with Lilly requirements, escalate risks and develop mitigation plans.
Empowered by access to world-class capabilities and extensive pharmaceutical development experience, you will help deliver technical solutions that enable deeper understanding of processes and products across the portfolio. Ideal candidates will possess experience across multiple analytical techniques ( e.g. , HPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR), demonstrate an aptitude in technical problem-solving, and be motivated to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting. The individual will enable comprehensive characterization of materials and processes necessary to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of Lilly's medicines. This responsibility requires direct contribution to the development of analytical methodology and the design of experiments to generate key data.

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities
Scientific Technical Leadership
- Demonstrate learning agility across modalities (small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides). Drive the design, development, and implementation of product control strategies for synthetic / small molecule programs. Demonstrated ability to develop analytical methods, justify specifications, design stability studies, establish starting material rationales for synthetic processes, identify impurities, and test drug product performance characteristics ( e.g. , dissolution/disintegration).
- Provide technical guidance for analytical activities carried out within the CDMO network. Ensure methods are technically sound, well developed, and fit for purposes. Collaborate closely with process development chemistry and engineering colleagues and manufacturing engineers to translate processes from the bench to pilot plant scale.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to development challenges, monitor emerging trends in analytical chemistry, and maintain familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Proven record of embracing advanced digitization efforts by deploying digital tools to enable seamless digital technology transfer.
- Proven track record of working with diverse groups across the value chain and in multiple locations.
- Thrive at the interface between disciplines and be able to quickly move from one scientific challenge to another while navigating ambiguity.
- Document all work in an appropriate manner.

Basic Qualifications
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field, with 5+ years of experience
