Job Summary
Join Aon's UK Data Analytics team as a Senior Data Analyst. You'll deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business value and collaborate with skilled professionals across the organisation. Our UK Data Analytics team partners with business areas including Commercial Risk, Underwriting, Global Broking, Health, Wealth, Talent, and Governance to deliver impactful data solutions aligned with strategic goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of analysts.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management for a team of data professionals, ensuring colleagues have clear objectives, development opportunities and appropriate support.
- Ensure analytical quality and data integrity.
- Oversee data analysis, validation, visualisation and reporting activities to ensure output is accurate, reliable and aligned to agreed standards and governance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, data quality, processes and technologies, promoting best practices and helping to increase organisational data maturity.
- Engage in ceremonies, such as team retrospectives, and encourage open discussions, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaboratively work with our stakeholders to specify, design, and demonstrate solutions; foster relationships, and ensure progress is effectively communicated, ensuring understanding and alignment.
- Support and develop new and existing solutions in line with stakeholder requirements and our delivery framework; Design, test and validate solutions to meet business needs ensuring accuracy and reliability before deployment.
Skills/Competencies Required
- Data Analysis and Visualisation: Has solid skills in advanced data analytics tools and technologies, including developing and querying data models with SQL (Snowflake, Databricks), Power BI, and PowerApps.
- Stakeholder Management: Understanding the needs, concerns, and expectations of stakeholders. Develop strategies to ensure positive relationships and successful achievement of project objectives.
- Team Management: Fosters growth, collaboration, and skill-building within a group to enhance performance and achieve collective goals.
- Performance Management: Guiding employee goal setting, feedback, and evaluation to set expectations for and evaluate employee work in alignment with organisational goals.
- Azure DevOps, project work boards and work item management as well as version control.
Requirements
- Required education and certifications critical for the role: Any Graduate or Post-Graduate (full time).
- Required years of experience: 8-12 years overall experience in data, analytics, reporting, data science, or a related field. 2-5 years of people management, team leadership, or squad leadership experience, ideally managing analysts. Demonstrable experience leading analytical delivery, stakeholder engagement, prioritisation, and developing colleagues.
