Key Responsibilities1. In-Process & Finished Goods Inspection
- Drawing-to-Product Verification: Review structural blueprints, architectural shop drawings, and material specifications to verify that physical builds precisely match client requirements.
- Multi-Material Assembly Checks: Inspect joints, alignments, and interfaces across multiple materials, including solid wood, veneers, MDF, metal fabrication, glass, acrylic, and integrated LED lighting.
- Aesthetic & Finish Evaluation: Conduct exhaustive checks on surface finishes, ensuring precise color matching, grain alignment, veneer stitching, lacquer smoothness, powder-coating consistency, and hardware fit.
- Structural Mock-ups: Supervise pre-shipment structural mock-ups of modular retail fixtures to guarantee stability, load-bearing capacities, and seamless interlocking in office.
2. Raw Material & Vendor Quality
- Incoming Material Audits: Inspect inbound lumber, engineered boards, hardware, paints, and custom metalwork components to verify they meet company and client standards.
- Moisture & Tolerance Testing: Ensure proper wood moisture content testing and dimensional tolerances are performed prior to CNC machining and carpentry phases.
3. Process Management & Continuous Improvement
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Design, implement, and maintain tailored QC checklists for carpentry, metal fabrication, polishing, and packing departments.
- Root Cause Analysis: Track defects, identify repetitive assembly or finishing failures, and collaborate with production teams to implement preventive solutions.
- Defect Documentation: Create, maintain,
and present detailed reports on reject rates, rework costs, and quality milestones to upper management.
4. Team Leadership & Safety
- Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of on-floor factory QC inspectors.
- Compliance: Ensure all manufactured furniture complies with relevant industry safety regulations, weight ratings, and commercial building codes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 57 years of hands-on experience in a furniture manufacturing factory or retail fixture production facility, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial QC role.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of carpentry joinery, wood polishing/painting techniques, sheet metal processing, and finishing standards.
- Blueprint Literacy: Advanced capability to interpret highly technical architectural designs, structural drawings, and 3D CAD models.
- Tools Proficiency: Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, moisture meters, gloss meters) and working within ERP/SAP production environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, Interior Design, or a related technical field (highly preferred).
What Makes You a Perfect Fit?
- You possess an uncompromising eye for micro-defects—such as a 1mm gap, a minor ripple in a lacquer finish, or a misaligned hinge.
- You understand the fast-paced, high-pressure nature of bespoke production where every piece is unique.
- You can communicate firmly yet constructively with factory carpenters, fabricators, and project managers to fix issues without halting production momentum.
