Role Description The Tax and Audit Assistant will support tax, accounting, and audit activities for clients of VirtuAxel. This full-time, on-site role is based in Mysore and involves assisting with bookkeeping, preparing tax working papers, supporting GST, TDS, and income tax return filings, and maintaining accurate financial records. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and organizing client documentation, performing reconciliations, preparing schedules for audits, and supporting compliance reviews under guidance of senior team members. The role also includes coordinating with clients to clarify data, ensuring timely completion of statutory obligations, and assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external audits. The assistant will collaborate with the consulting team to help streamline processes and maintain up-to-date, compliant financial information.
Qualifications

• Strong grounding in accounting fundamentals, including bookkeeping, journal entries, ledger posting, and basic financial statements.




• Knowledge of taxation and compliance processes, particularly GST, TDS, income tax returns, ITC reconciliation, and related statutory requirements.
• Ability to support audit procedures, including documentation, reconciliations, sampling, and preparation of audit schedules and workpapers.
• Proficiency with accounting and office software (e.g., Tally or other accounting tools, Excel, and document management systems).
• Attention to detail, structured work habits, and strong analytical and numerical skills for reviewing financial and tax data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients and internal team members.
• Ability to work in office in Mysore, manage deadlines, and handle multiple client assignments in a fast-paced environment.
