Job Description for Sr. Engineer - Embedded Testing
Job Description:
Lead individual projects for verification and validation of embedded software. He / She Will be involved in executing projects on Vertiv's communication card products, including IS-UNITY, RDU101, rack PDUs. He/ She Responsible for developing test plans, developing test cases, and setting up test environments. Responsible for leading one or multiple projects with the help of Engineers. Being a member of Global Engineering Services, will be responsible to execute the assigned job and report as per the defined communication plan.
Lead test efforts on an individual project, Review requirements, develop test plans and create test cases. Setup test environments and oversee test execution of Engineers on the team
Job Specifications:
- Bachelors Engineering degree in Electronics / Computers / IT
- 6+ Years relevant experience of manual software test in various embedded system domains.
- Testing experience with communication interface & protocols i.e. IPv4, IPv6, SNMP, Modbus, BACnet, RS485 protocols
- Experience Linux/Windows setup and troubleshooting, packet-capture tools (e.g. Wireshark)
- Strong testing process knowledge, Defect management, participation in causal analysis.
- Hands on experience with defect tracking tools like Rally, JIRA, and Bugzilla is required
- Experience writing system-level test cases is required
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ownership of assigned tests, timelines, and quality of documentation
- Collaborate with Development, Product Management and Global Engineering teams.
- Exposure to power, thermal or data-centre monitoring products
- Awareness of ISO/IEC, IEEE or similar test/quality practices
- Experience with Python programming language is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
- ISTQB certification is an added advantage
