Job Purpose/ Summary
Responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental practices across the workplace to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Conduct safety inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments, support incident investigation and corrective actions, conduct safety training and awareness programs, monitor PPE and safe work practices, and promote a strong safety culture among employees and contract workforce.
Job Description
The Environment Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining environmental management systems and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental laws, statutory requirements and organizational standards. The role involves monitoring environmental performance, coordinating statutory compliance, maintaining environmental records and supporting various environmental initiatives across the plant.
The position will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring effective operation of environmental management systems including ETP, STP, RO/ZLD systems, air pollution control systems, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and online continuous emission/effluent monitoring systems (OCEMS..
The Environment Officer will coordinate with regulatory authorities, consultants and internal departments for environmental approvals, consents, Environmental Clearance (EC., Consent to Establish (CTE., Consent to Operate/CCA, statutory returns, inspections and compliance requirements. The role also includes conducting environmental inspections, identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions and promoting continual improvement in environmental performance.
The position will support environmental monitoring, sustainability initiatives, ESG/BRSR requirements, resource conservation, pollution prevention and awareness programs to strengthen the organization's overall environmental performance and compliance culture.

Implement and monitor health safety and environmental HSE policies procedures and safety standards across the workplacebr Conduct regular safety inspections audits and workplace observations to identify hazards and unsafe practicesbr Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment HIRA risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis JSA for various activities and processesbr Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment PPE and compliance with safe working proceduresbr Conduct safety induction sessions toolbox talks and safety awareness programs for employees and contractorsbr Support accident and incident investigations ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are effectively implementedbr Coordinate emergency preparedness activities including fire safety checks and mock drills to ensure readinessbr Monitor compliance with statutory safety requirements and company HSE standards maintaining all necessary documentationbr Maintain safety records inspection reports incident reports and other HSE documentation for accountability and transparencybr Follow up on identified safety gaps and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions CAPAbr Coordinate with various departments and contractors to resolve safetyrelated issues efficientlybr Promote continuous improvement and strengthen the overall safety culture within the organization
