What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):
As a Data Engineering Consultant, you will play a key role in designing, building, and modernizing data engineering solutions at CIBC. This role sits within the data engineering function and is focused on ETL development, pipeline engineering, data migration, and cloud based data platform enablement.

You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements, translate them into scalable engineering solutions, and support the migration of legacy data assets into modern cloud environments such as Azure Databricks.

The primary focus of this role is on data engineering, ETL processes, pipeline development, and data warehousing, including building robust and scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Py Spark.

How Youll Succeed:



Deliver scalable and reliable data engineering solutions to support analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumption. Build, enhance, and maintain batch and/or distributed data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Py Spark. Design and implement ETL workflows that ensure effective ingestion, transformation, and movement of data across systems. Develop reusable and optimized pipeline components aligned with engineering best practices. Support migration of data from legacy platforms to Azure Databricks and modern cloud based environments. Analyze legacy data flows, transformation logic, and source-to-target mappings to enable smooth modernization. Rebuild and optimize legacy ETL processes using modern engineering frameworks and tools. Ensure data integrity, completeness, and consistency during migration activities.
