We are looking for a skilled and product-oriented Backend Engineer – Platform & Integrations to design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services and API-driven systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Python, backend development, REST APIs, relational databases, and third-party integrations.

This role is suited for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building dependable systems, and taking ownership of features from initial requirements through deployment and production support. You will contribute to developing scalable platforms that coordinate external service providers, process data reliably, and support critical business workflows.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
- Build reliable workflows for third-party service orchestration, verification processes,



and case-management systems.
- Integrate external APIs, handle authentication, validate responses, normalise data, and manage integration failures.
- Design and maintain relational database schemas, data models, and effective queries using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases.
- Build reliable data-processing pipelines with appropriate error handling, retries, timeouts, and logging.
- Develop scalable backend components with a focus on performance, maintainability, security, and service reliability.
- Take ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and technical design to deployment and ongoing support.
- Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
