The Senior Pharmacist in a hospital setting balances advanced clinical expertise with operational leadership. This skilled ensures the protected, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of medications, supervises floor pharmacists and technicians, and collaborates with the broader medical team to maximize patient safety and regulatory compliance.Core Breakdown of the Job Description1. Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Oversight: Supervise automated dispensing, complex compounding, and sterile IV/chemotherapy admixtures (complying with USP <797> and <800> standards).
Medication Safety & Audits: Review high-risk medication orders, manage adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and implement safety protocols to reduce clinical errors.
Team Leadership: Coordinate daily shift workflows, assist with training/onboarding, and manage performance benchmarks for staff pharmacists and technicians.
Regulatory & Inventory Management:
Oversee controlled substance tracking (DEA compliance) and contribute to hospital formulary updates and cost-containment measures.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Transparent and active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in the practicing jurisdiction.
Experience: 5 years of clinical hospital pharmacy experience, with proven supervisory or charge-pharmacist experience preferred.
Technical Skillsets: Deep familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) like Epic or Cerner, and automated dispensing platforms like Pyxis or Omnicell.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
