Job Summary

Kargeen Restaurant is looking for hardworking and enthusiastic Commis Chefs to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, basic knowledge of food preparation, and the willingness to learn and develop their culinary skills in a qualified restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff with daily kitchen operations.
Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, and other items as instructed.
Carry out basic food preparation, cutting, chopping, marinating, and portioning.
Assist with mise en place before and during service.
Follow recipes, preparation methods, and portion standards.
Assist in preparing and cooking dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the assigned kitchen section.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies when required.
Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.




Keep kitchen equipment and work areas clean and organized.
Work effectively with other kitchen team members during busy service periods.

Requirements
Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Helper is preferred.
Freshers with a culinary qualification or relevant training may also apply.
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Knowledge of Indian, Kerala, or multi-cuisine cooking is an advantage.
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
Willingness to learn and take instructions from senior chefs.
Valuable teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work versatile shifts, weekends, and holidays.
