Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct regular table tennis coaching sessions for students across different age and skill groups.
Teach fundamental and advanced techniques including grip, stance, footwork, serves, returns, strokes, spins, attacking and defensive play.
Develop age-appropriate training programmes based on students' abilities and competitive goals.
Identify talented students and provide focused coaching for competitive-level performance.
Prepare school teams for inter-house, inter-school, CBSE and other recognised sporting competitions.
Conduct regular assessments of students' skills, fitness, progress, and match performance.
Organise practice matches, selection trials, and internal tournaments.
Maintain records of student attendance, performance, achievements, and competition participation.
Maintain a safe, disciplined, inclusive, and positive training setting.
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, punctuality, fair play, and respect among students.
Coordinate with the Physical Education Department and school management regarding training schedules and competitions.
Follow all school safeguarding, child-protection, safety, and disciplinary policies.
Stay updated with contemporary table tennis coaching methods, competition rules, and recognised sporting standards.
Support the school's overall sports development programme and participate in sports-related school activities.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in any discipline is preferred.
Certification/Diploma in Table Tennis Coaching, Physical Education, Sports Coaching, or a related field will be an advantage.
Certification from a recognised table tennis/sports federation or coaching body is preferred.
Experience
Previous experience coaching school students, preferably in a CBSE or similar school setting.
Experience preparing students for competitive tournaments is desirable.
Experience in coaching beginners as well as advanced-level players is preferred.
