Our client supplies and supports marine equipment for shipyards and vessel operators across India. The company represents international OEMs, with its portfolio spanning propulsion machinery, marine engines and transmissions, thrusters, firefighting systems and deck equipment.They work with shipyards and end-users including the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Police and Customs. It is an established, approximately ₹50 crore business with the independence of a growing MSME and benefits including PF, health insurance and bonus.The opportunityWe are looking for a marine professional who can identify equipment opportunities at the earliest stages of a shipbuilding project and take ownership of the sales process through order placement. You will work with shipyard management, ship production and engineering teams, procurement, end-users and OEM partners to develop technically suitable and commercially competitive offers.The role offers exposure to multiple international marine equipment lines, senior shipyard decision-makers and OEM sales training. You will have the freedom to build relationships and pursue business independently.Key responsibilities· Track shipbuilding and vessel projects across India, identifying where the company's equipment can be specified or offered.· Engage shipyards, naval and Coast Guard stakeholders, designers,
engineering teams and procurement teams before and after tenders or purchase enquiries are issued.· Understand vessel requirements and work with OEMs and internal technical teams to propose suitable equipment.· Own technical and commercial follow-up: clarify specifications, coordinate proposals, address queries, negotiate terms and progress opportunities to order.· Build relationships with senior shipyard management and maintain visibility on each project from early planning through procurement and delivery.· Represent ATSS and its OEM partners at customer meetings, industry events and project discussions.· Coordinate with service and execution teams after order placement to support customer commitments.Who would fit· Experience in marine equipment sales, shipyard business development, shipbuilding, vessel engineering, ship production or related procurement.· A mechanical or marine engineering background, with the ability to understand and explain equipment across several product lines.· Solid relationships within shipyards, the Navy, Coast Guard or the wider maritime industry.· Evidence of personally developing opportunities and managing both technical and commercial discussions.· Willingness to travel extensively and work with a high degree of independence.Applications from retired Indian Navy or Coast Guard officers with relevant experience are welcome
