Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Steel Structure Construction Site Supervisor to oversee and coordinate day-to-day activities at steel structure construction sites.

The candidate will be responsible for supervising steel erection, fabrication-related site activities, installation, alignment, bolting, welding, roofing, cladding, and other structural works, while ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

The Site Supervisor will coordinate with project engineers, structural engineers, fabricators, subcontractors, workers, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Supervision

- Supervise daily construction activities related to steel structure erection and installation.
- Monitor and coordinate steel erection, fabrication, welding, bolting, alignment, roofing, cladding, and related works.
- Ensure all work is carried out according to approved structural drawings, project specifications, and method statements.
- Coordinate with engineers and the project management team regarding site requirements and technical issues.
- Allocate work to workers, fabricators, welders, riggers, and subcontractors based on project requirements.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools, machinery, and equipment required for daily activities.
- Ensure proper sequence of work to maintain project progress and productivity.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify construction issues, delays, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the technical team to resolve site-related problems.

Steel Erection & Installation

- Supervise the safe erection and installation of columns, beams, rafters, trusses, purlins, bracing, platforms, staircases, and other steel components.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, positioning, and fixing of structural members.
- Monitor bolting, welding, cutting, drilling, and other steel installation activities.
- Ensure proper use of lifting equipment such as cranes, chain blocks, lifting tackles, and other erection equipment.
- Verify materials and structural components received at site against drawings, delivery documents, and project requirements.
- Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect materials and report them to the concerned team.





Drawings & Measurements

- Read and understand structural drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, layouts, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with engineers regarding drawing revisions and site modifications.
- Take basic site measurements and verify dimensions, levels, and alignments.
- Report discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions to the project engineer.
- Maintain records of measurements, completed work, material usage, and site progress.

Quality Control

- Ensure construction work meets required quality standards and project specifications.
- Inspect steel connections, bolts, welds, alignment, dimensions, roofing, cladding, and other installation works.
- Coordinate with the quality/engineering team for inspections and rectification of defects.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of structural materials.
- Monitor rework and ensure corrective actions are completed properly.

Safety Management

- Ensure strict compliance with site safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE such as helmets, safety harnesses, gloves, safety shoes, and other required equipment.
- Supervise safe working practices for working at height, lifting operations, welding, cutting, and material handling.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and accidents immediately to management.
- Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and organized condition.

Project Coordination & Reporting

- Coordinate daily activities with the Project Engineer, Site Engineer, Project Manager, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Monitor daily progress against the project schedule.
- Prepare daily site reports, manpower reports, material requirements, work progress reports, and site activity updates.
- Inform management about delays, material shortages, technical issues, manpower requirements, and other site challenges.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.




- Support the project team in achieving project completion within the planned time, cost, and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in steel structure erection, construction site supervision, or industrial/commercial building projects.
- Candidates with solid hands-on experience in steel structure erection and site management will be preferred.
- Experience in PEB buildings, warehouses, factories, industrial buildings, commercial buildings, or similar steel structure projects is an advantage.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of steel structure erection and construction practices.
- Ability to read and understand structural and erection drawings.
- Knowledge of bolting, welding, alignment, leveling, roofing, cladding, and steel installation.
- Basic knowledge of construction measurements and site documentation.
- Good manpower and subcontractor coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Strong focus on quality, safety, productivity, and timely completion.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and site reporting tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and work at different project sites as required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be evaluated based on:

- Daily and weekly project progress.
- Timely completion of assigned site activities.
- Quality of steel erection and installation work.
- Compliance with safety standards and procedures.
- Effective utilization of manpower and equipment.
- Reduction of rework and material wastage.
- Accuracy of site measurements and reporting.
- Effective coordination with engineers, subcontractors, and workers.
- Timely identification and resolution of site issues.
- Achievement of project quality, schedule, and productivity targets.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, technically capable, safety-conscious, and experienced in managing steel structure construction sites. The candidate should be comfortable supervising workers and subcontractors, coordinating with engineers, reading drawings, solving site issues, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
