Job Title: Sous chef
Industry - Hotel/Hospitality
Location: Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
Salary: Up to ₹45,000

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and food production.

* Supervise kitchen staff, including CDPs, DCDPs, Commis Chefs, and kitchen helpers.

* Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, portion sizes, and food quality.

* Plan daily food preparation according to occupancy, guest requirements, and menu schedules.

* Monitor food costs, inventory, wastage, and portion control.

* Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores departments for kitchen supplies and stock requirements.

* Ensure proper food storage, kitchen cleanliness, and hygiene standards.

* Follow food safety procedures and maintain required kitchen records.

* Train and guide kitchen staff to improve performance and productivity.

* Ensure timely preparation and service of food.

* Support menu planning, recipe standardization, and special food requirements.

* Maintain discipline, teamwork, and professional standards within the kitchen.

Required Skills

* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

* Good leadership and team management skills.





* Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and wastage control.

* Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

* Ability to work efficiently in a professional hospitality environment.

* Positive coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility Criteria

* 6–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.

* Practical experience in managing kitchen operations and supervising a kitchen team.

* Relevant qualification preferred; educational requirements may be considered based on the candidate’s experience, culinary skills, and suitability for the role.

* Candidates must be willing to work the day shift at the Rishikesh location.
