Job Description – Surface Treatment Specialist

Experience : 15–20 years

Role Objective

To lead and provide technical expertise for surface treatment and coating processes, ensuring high standards of corrosion protection, coating quality, process capability, productivity and environmental compliance.The role will be responsible for process development, optimisation, troubleshooting and technical leadership across electroplating and chemical surface-treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and optimise electroplating, phosphating and protective coating processes. Provide technical expertise in Zinc, Zinc-Nickel, Zinc-Iron and other electroplating processes.

Manage Zinc-Aluminum Flake coatings, including technologies such as Geomet, Dacromet, Magni or equivalent.

Develop and optimise pre-treatment, cleaning, pickling, phosphating, passivation and coating processes.

Establish and control bath chemistry, process parameters and coating specifications.



Troubleshoot issues related to adhesion, corrosion, coating thickness, appearance, uniformity and process defects.

Drive Salt Spray Testing, coating thickness, adhesion, torque-tension and other performance testing.

Lead current process development, line commissioning, capacity enhancement and process improvement initiatives.

Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D;, Maintenance, EHS and Customer teams. Support customer requirements, audits, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D and technical approvals.

Drive reduction in chemical consumption, rejection, rework and process cost.

Ensure compliance with EHS, chemical handling, wastewater/ETP and environmental requirements.

Build technical capability within the Surface Treatment team.

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
