● Illustrating ideas: Our content writers will sometimes hand you a full brief, sometimes a script, sometimes a grandiose idea. You turn it into a visual story that says more than the words alone could. ● Making science visible: Mechanisms, ingredients, the body at work. You'll turn complex ideas into illustrations that are clear, accurate, and still beautiful. ● Building a recognizable visual language: Characters, icons, textures, and color systems that make KLR.FIT look like KLR.FIT, in every format. ● Upholding & amplifying the brand's philosophy: Every time you make a visual, answer this first: why should I care? ● Knowing what goes where, instinctively: Where the eye should land first, what's noise, and what's pleasing. You already know what a creative director would flag before they have to flag it. ● Working across formats: Social creatives, ad visuals, product page and Amazon graphics, infographics, packaging support, and anything else that needs an illustrator's hand. What makes you the right person for this ● 1 to 3 years of experience in illustration, at a studio, agency, brand, or as a freelancer ● Strong illustration fundamentals: Line work, shape, color, composition, and visual hierarchy. ● Range with a clear hand: You can draw in more than one style (flat vector, textured, character-led, semi-realistic) and adapt without losing quality. ● A genuine feel for brand philosophy: You can look at a brand and articulate what it stands for, visually and contextually. ● Strong visual instincts: You can take someone else's raw idea and elevate it without losing what made it good in the first place. ● Independence: You don't need hand-holding to know what "positive" looks like. You've already internalized it from studying brands that do this well. Illustration specifics ● Style range: Flat vector, textured/grain illustration, character illustration, and editorial-style spot illustrations.
● Subjects: Explanatory/infographic illustration, simple anatomical or scientific diagrams, ingredient and product illustrations, icon sets, and characters. ● Understanding of format: You know when to work in vector (scalable, clean) versus raster (textured, painterly), and can set up files for both. ● Production habits: Layered, organized source files, a consistent color palette, and a clean handoff to our designers and video team. ● Revision-friendly: You can take feedback and rework an illustration quickly without starting over. ● Platform sizing: Familiarity with the formats we publish to (Instagram, Meta ads, Amazon A+ content, website banners). Tools we'd love you to know ● Adobe Illustrator: for vector illustration ● Adobe Photoshop: for raster work, texture, and compositing ● Procreate or Adobe Fresco: for hand-drawn illustration on a tablet ● A drawing tablet: Wacom, iPad, or similar ● Other tools are fine (Affinity Designer, Clip Studio Paint, Figma). We care about the output, not the toolkit. The standard we're holding you to We're not chasing "creative" because we need "x" graphics a week to keep social media running. We're chasing the specific kind of creativity that makes brands like AG1 feel authoritative, Chobani feel warm, and Seed feel almost clinical-cool. A BLEND OF CREDIBILITY AND CRAFT IS TO BE EXPECTED. Nice to have (not required, but we'll notice) ● Experience in D2C, wellness, or health/nutrition brands ● Basic animation or motion skills (Adobe After Effects, or frame-by-frame animation) ● Comfort collaborating directly with content writers and a creative director ● Figma, for handoff and collaboration ● Familiarity with AI image tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly), just a nice plus to have
