JOB DESCRIPTION – SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to teach Std. 5 to 8 students under the GSEB curriculum. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and the ability to explain concepts in a simple and engaging manner.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver effective Social Studies lessons for Std. 5 to 8 as per the GSEB curriculum.
- Teach topics related to History, Geography, Civics, and Social Science effectively.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, assignments, and teaching materials.
- Explain concepts using practical examples, maps, charts, activities, and other teaching aids.
- Assess students through classwork, homework, tests, projects, and examinations.
- Maintain proper records of student performance, attendance, and academic progress.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and provide appropriate guidance.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.
- Conduct remedial and enrichment activities whenever required.
- Coordinate with parents regarding students' academic performance and progress.
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, training sessions, and co-curricular activities.
- Follow school policies, academic procedures, and reporting requirements.




- Collaborate with other teachers and the academic team for effective curriculum implementation.
- Perform any other academic responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Academic Coordinator.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Studies / History / Geography / Political Science / related field.
- B.Ed. / equivalent teaching qualification will be preferred.
- Relevant teaching experience with GSEB Std. 5 to 8 students will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the GSEB curriculum and syllabus.
- Good classroom management and student-handling skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to use modern teaching methods and basic digital teaching tools.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Candidates from Surat will be preferred.
- Candidates with prior experience in a GSEB school will be given preference.
- Gujarati language proficiency is essential for effective classroom communication.
- Should be passionate, responsible, punctual, and committed to students' academic development.
- Should have a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
