Job Description

What we're looking for:

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the end-to-end content production lifecycle, coordinating activities across production, quality assurance, and final delivery.

- Coordinate effectively with clients, editorial stakeholders, production teams, and internal support functions to ensure seamless workflow.

- Understand and accurately interpret client requirements, style guidelines, quality expectations, delivery schedules, and agreed service levels.

- Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive production schedules, trackers, and project plans to ensure work progresses according to agreed timelines.

- Monitor project volumes, turnaround times, ageing work, resource capacity, quality trends, and delivery risks, taking proactive action where required.

- Coordinate resource allocation and backup planning to manage changes in volume, peak periods, staff availability, and project priorities.

- Implement and uphold quality control measures throughout the production process and coordinate corrective actions when quality issues are identified.

- Manage client queries, escalations, dependencies, and potential delivery risks with clear, timely, and professional communication.

- Prepare and analyse project reports and dashboards to provide visibility of progress, performance, risks, issues, and improvement actions.

- Maintain clear project documentation, process guidelines, action logs, and knowledge-transfer records to support operational continuity.

- Work with relevant technical and production teams to resolve workflow, file, system, or delivery issues and ensure timely recovery.





- Continuously assess and refine production processes to improve efficiency, quality, predictability, and client service.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2-7 years of experience in project management, content production, academic publishing, scholarly publishing, editorial operations, or a related publishing services environment.

- Proven experience managing complex production projects involving multiple teams, stages, deadlines, and quality requirements.

- Experience managing projects against defined turnaround times, service levels, quality targets, or other operational KPIs.

- Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to use project trackers, reports, and data to monitor progress and identify risks early.

- Good understanding of publishing or content production workflows, including editorial, copyediting, typesetting, digital content, or quality assurance processes.

- Strong problem-solving and escalation-management skills, with the ability to remain calm and structured when managing delivery or quality issues.

- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with international clients.

- Familiarity with manuscript submission systems, publishing platforms, workflow-management systems, or similar production tools is highly desirable. Experience with specific platforms such as OJS is an advantage but is not essential.

- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset, with a focus on delivering accurate, high-quality work within agreed timelines.
