Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Reporting To: Plant Head / General Manager

1. Job Purpose

To ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical systems, production machinery, utilities, and plant equipment at Agastya Nutrifood. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting electrical faults, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and production machinery.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, control panels, electrical circuits, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC-based systems.
- Maintain and repair LT panels, MCC panels, distribution boards, starters, VFDs, and motor control systems.
- Monitor the condition of electrical installations and ensure reliable power supply to production areas.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and minimize production downtime.

B. Production Machinery & Utilities

- Maintain electrical systems associated with food processing, packaging, filling, conveying, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, compressors, motors, and utility equipment as applicable.
- Coordinate with mechanical maintenance and production teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Support installation, commissioning, testing, and modification of electrical equipment.

C. Preventive Maintenance & Documentation

- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain electrical maintenance records, breakdown reports, inspection checklists, and spare-parts registers.
- Identify recurring faults and implement corrective and preventive actions.




- Monitor critical electrical spares and coordinate with the purchase and stores departments for timely availability.
- Maintain updated electrical drawings, equipment history, and maintenance logs.

D. Electrical Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before electrical maintenance work.
- Ensure proper earthing, insulation, circuit protection, and safe working conditions.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical panels, cables, wiring, and protective devices.
- Ensure appropriate use of PPE and safe maintenance practices.

E. Energy Management & Continuous Improvement

- Monitor electricity consumption and identify opportunities for energy savings.
- Support initiatives to improve equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability and reduce repetitive breakdowns.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for electrical maintenance and repairs.

3. Educational Qualification

- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- ITI in Electrical may be considered for candidates with strong relevant industrial maintenance experience, depending on organizational requirements.

4. Experience Required

- Preferred experience: 3–6 years in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in food processing, FMCG, packaging, or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Practical experience in electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, motor control systems, and industrial electrical panels is essential.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance practices.
- Hands-on experience with motors, VFDs, PLC systems, relays, contactors, and control panels, DG maintenance etc.
- Ability to identify electrical faults and perform root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical safety, earthing, and isolation procedures.
- Good documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines and respond to emergency breakdowns.
- Team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilities.

7. Working Conditions

- Work location: Agastya Nutrifood, Rajoda, Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- Work setting: Food manufacturing and industrial production facility.
- The role may require shift duty, emergency breakdown support, and coordination during production hours.
- Compliance with plant safety, hygiene, and operational policies is mandatory.

8. Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be technically sound, proactive, safety-conscious, and capable of independently handling routine electrical maintenance activities while coordinating with production, mechanical maintenance, and plant management teams.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
