Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced SAP BusinessObjects professional to design, develop and maintain enterprise reports, universes and dashboards. The candidate will work with business users and data teams to translate reporting requirements into reliable, high-performing BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and deploy reports using Web Intelligence (WebI), Crystal Reports and Lumira / Analysis for Office.

- Build and maintain Universes using Information Design Tool (IDT) / Universe Design Tool (UDT).

- Gather requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into technical specifications.

- Optimize report and query performance; troubleshoot data and refresh issues.

- Manage BO content, users, groups, folders and security via Central Management Console (CMC).

- Schedule reports, publications and instances; monitor jobs and resolve failures.

- Perform data validation, UAT support and defect fixing.

- Support upgrades and migrations (e.g., BO 4.x versions, Promotion Management / Lifecycle Management).

- Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to the team.

Required Skills (Must Have)

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BusinessObjects 4.x.

- Strong expertise in Web Intelligence and Universe Design (IDT/UDT).

- Working knowledge of Crystal Reports.





- Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, aggregations, performance tuning).

- Data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts (star / snowflake schema).

- Experience with CMC administration, security and report scheduling.

- Experience connecting to databases such as SAP HANA, SAP BW, Oracle, SQL Server.

Good to Have

- SAP Lumira Designer / Discovery, Analysis for Office, Design Studio.

- SAP BW / BW on HANA / BEx query integration.

- Promotion Management, Query as a Web Service, BI Launch Pad customization.

- Basic ETL knowledge (SAP Data Services, Informatica) and Python / shell scripting.

- Exposure to Tableau / Power BI or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

- Experience with Agile / Scrum and ticketing tools (JIRA, ServiceNow).

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field (or equivalent experience). SAP BO / BI certification is a plus.
