Job Title : Junior Engineer – Certifi cation (External testing & Certifi cations)

Location : Navi Mumbai

COMPANY PROFILE: ideaForge is the leader in industrial and surveillance UAV manufacturing in India with more than 50% market share. The organization was established in 2007 by IIT-Bombay alumni and is based out of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. ideaForge co-designed India’s fi rst Surveillance quadrotor UAV, NETRA with the Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and is also responsible for engineering the then world’s lightest Autopilot.

POSITION OVERVIEW : As Junior Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for support during testing & certifying the ideaForge products as per the defence, civil & regulatory requirements. Support prototype development, Jig & fi xture fabrication for EUT.

Job Description/Responsibilities :

- Testing Execution & Support: Collaborate with senior engineers and team leads to execute testing activities accurately and on schedule, ensuring error-free data collection and validation.

- Standards & Compliance: Apply a foundational understanding of military and civil testing standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, JSS, MIL-STD) to effectively evaluate products and equipment.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with internal engineering teams to gain an in-depth understanding of payload functionality (cameras, radio and GPS modules, and core electronics) and assist in hardware tuning during the certifi cation process.

- In-House Validation Testing:



Conduct internal subsystem and system-level validation tests—including environmental (dry heat, damp heat, cold tests) and mechanical (vibration and shock) evaluations—prior to fi nal third-party certifi cation.

- Product Hardening: Assist technical teams in implementing necessary design modifi cations and delta changes to existing products, ensuring the EUT meets all stringent certifi cation requirements. Skills & Qualifi cations:

- Strong Knowledge of electronics/electroptical trouble shooting on electronic PCB level.

- Strong Knowledge of soldering & electronic schematic reading.

- Basic knowledge of instrument & testing equipment handling like climatic chambers/Vibration test bench.

- Understanding of IEC/ISO/EN Standards & their interpretation for UAS systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in english. Basic Knowledge of Jigs/Fixture development for environmental testing EUT set up. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related fi eld). Experience: 2-4 years of experience in testing/certifi cation background (preferred from electronics- Electro-optical) industry.

Skills

Strong Knowledge of soldering & electronic schematic reading.

Understanding of IEC/ISO/EN Standards & their interpretation for UAS systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in english.
