About FamCare

FamCare (Famcare Technologies Pvt Ltd) is a Bengaluru care platform built on one idea: families should get care, not just find caregivers. We started with baby care and are now launching elderly care, led by physiotherapy and yoga for back, knee and neck pain, alongside daily support such as companionship, bathing and movement assistance.

We run a full-stack model. Every Care Qualified is trained, managed and supported by FamCare, and every Care Plan, Care Session and Care Report runs through our app. That means less paperwork for you and clear progress for families.

The role

You will own a caseload of older adults treated at home. You assess each client, build their Care Plan, deliver sessions, track progress with standard outcome measures and keep families informed through Care Reports. You will also train FamCare's movement-support caregivers so that every client moves safely between your visits.

What you'll do

Assessment and Care Plans

- Run a structured first-visit assessment: medical history, current medication, red-flag screening, vitals (BP, pulse, SpO2), pain, range of motion, strength, gait, balance and a home-safety check.
- Record baseline outcome measures: NPRS for pain, Oswestry Disability Index (back), Neck Disability Index, WOMAC or KOOS (knee), Timed Up and Go, 30-second Chair Stand and Berg Balance Scale.
- Agree goals with the client and family, and build a 4–8 week Care Plan in the FamCare app.

Home Care Sessions

- Deliver 45–60 minute sessions: manual therapy, strengthening and stretching, posture and ergonomic correction, and portable electrotherapy (TENS/IFT) where indicated.
- Train gait, transfers (bed, chair, toilet) and stairs; prescribe walking aids and teach their safe use.
- Rehabilitate clients after knee replacement or spinal surgery, following the surgeon's protocol.
- Set a simple home exercise programme and check adherence at every visit.

Mobility and fall prevention

- Assess home hazards (lighting, loose rugs, bathroom grab bars,

footwear) and advise the family on fixes.
- Run balance and fall-prevention programmes for clients at risk of falls.

Safety and escalation

- Check vitals before every session; pause and escalate when readings fall outside safe limits.
- Watch for red flags such as sudden weakness, numbness, bladder or bowel changes, suspected fracture, calf swelling, chest pain or breathlessness. Escalate the same day to the client's doctor and FamCare.
- Follow FamCare's safety protocols on consent, dignity, infection control and safe handling. Report any incident within 24 hours.

Documentation and technology

- Log every Care Session in the FamCare app the same day: exercises, pain scores, vitals and notes.
- Re-measure outcomes every two weeks so the app can generate Care Reports for families.
- Use the app's video exercise library and remote follow-ups between visits where useful.

Team collaboration

- Train and supervise movement-support caregivers on safe transfers, walking assistance and prescribed exercises.
- Coordinate with FamCare yoga instructors on combined plans, and refer to doctors or orthopaedic specialists when needed.
- Help build FamCare's clinical protocols and exercise library.

Who we're looking for

Must have

- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognised institution.
- Valid professional registration as required for physiotherapists practising in Karnataka.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic or geriatric physiotherapy (hospital, clinic or home care).
- Comfort with home visits, plus your own two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.
- A smartphone and willingness to document every session in an app.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to complete it in your first month.
- Clear background and police verification.

Good to have

- MPT in Musculoskeletal/Orthopaedics, Geriatrics or Neurology.
- Certifications in manual therapy (Maitland, Mulligan), dry needling, kinesio taping, or yoga therapy.
- Experience with post-knee-replacement rehab or home-based rehab.
- Experience with clients living with dementia, Parkinson's disease or stroke.

Skills and qualities

- Patience and genuine respect for older adults, including those who are frail, anxious or slow to trust.
- Clear explanations for clients and families, without jargon.

- Sound clinical judgement on when to progress, when to pause and when to escalate.
- Punctuality and reliability; families plan their day around your visit.
- Professional conduct in clients' homes, with respect for privacy and household routines.
- Languages: Kannada and English; Hindi, Tamil or Telugu is a plus.
