Senior Buying Executive / Senior Merchandiser | Zavya | Gurugram

About the Role

Zavya is looking for an experienced Senior Buying Executive / Senior Merchandiser who can independently coordinate with vendors, track production and sampling, expedite delays, maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure buying requirements are executed on time. This is a hands-on ownership role for someone who understands vendor management, product development, costing, timelines, and execution discipline.

Key Responsibilities

· Act as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors and maintain strong day-to-day relationships.

· Drive accountability around timelines, quality, costing, and commitments.

· Coordinate recent product sampling from design brief to final approved sample.

· Track sample development, corrections, costing, weight, and approvals.

· Work with design, CAD, QC, and vendors to ensure sampling moves on time.

· Track purchase orders from placement to production, QC, and dispatch.

· Expedite delayed samples and orders and create recovery plans with vendors.

· Identify risks early and highlight business-critical delays before they impact launches.

· Coordinate costing, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, and production feasibility.

· Support vendor negotiations on cost and commercial terms.

· Maintain vendor-wise commercials,



order status, and performance records.

· Review vendor performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.

· Support process improvements across buying, sampling, and vendor management.

What We're Looking For

· 3-6 years of experience in buying, merchandising, sourcing, or vendor management.

· Strong experience dealing directly with vendors.

· Good understanding of sampling, production follow-ups, costing, and lead times.

· Strong communication and relationship-management skills.

· Ability to push vendors firmly while maintaining long-term relationships.

· Good Excel / Google Sheets skills.

· High ownership and strong follow-up discipline.

· Ability to independently manage multiple vendors and orders.

· Jewellery, fashion, accessories, lifestyle, or export experience preferred.
