Oben Electric, located in the industrial hub of Jigani, Bengaluru, is expanding its production line to meet the rising demand for electric vehicles across India. As an EV Manufacturing Technician, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that builds, tests, and validates critical components of our vehicles. The role blends three core functions – battery pack assembly, electric motor assembly, and final product inspection – providing a comprehensive view of the manufacturing process and a unique chance to develop expertise in multiple EV subsystems.
The day begins with a safety briefing and a review of the production schedule. You will receive detailed work instructions through a computerized system that outlines each step, required tools, and quality checkpoints. Your first responsibility is to assemble battery packs. This involves precise placement of individual cells, accurate wiring, and secure connector fitting. You must follow strict electro‑static discharge (ESD) protocols, use calibrated torque tools, and verify each connection against the wiring diagram. After assembly, you will perform a visual inspection to identify any misaligned cells, loose wires, or surface defects before the pack moves to the testing station.
Following battery work, you transition to motor assembly. Here, you will handle mechanical components such as stators, rotors, bearings, and housing units. Using hand tools, torque wrenches, and alignment jigs, you will fit and fasten parts according to engineering tolerances. Measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers are used to confirm dimensional accuracy. Throughout this process, you must adhere to the same safety and quality standards applied to battery work, ensuring that each motor meets performance specifications before proceeding to the next production stage.
The final phase of your shift is the inspection of completed EV units. This comprehensive check includes visual assessment of fitment, surface finish,
and component installation, as well as functional testing of electrical systems, motor operation, and battery performance. You will operate diagnostic equipment, record test results, and compare them against predefined acceptance criteria. Any deviation triggers a non‑conformance report, which you will document and forward to the quality assurance team for corrective action.
Success in this role requires a solid foundation in both electrical and mechanical principles. You should be comfortable reading schematics, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions. Proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, and inspection gauges is essential. Equally important is a strong awareness of workplace safety, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and adherence to ISO‑9001 quality standards.
Oben Electric promotes a collaborative culture where continuous improvement is encouraged. You will work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and fellow technicians to identify process bottlenecks, suggest enhancements, and implement best practices. Effective communication, problem‑solving abilities, and a focus on meeting daily production targets while maintaining zero‑defect output are key performance indicators for this position.
We offer a structured onboarding program that includes classroom training on EV technology, hands‑on mentorship, and safety certification. As you gain experience, opportunities for specialization – such as advanced battery diagnostics or motor performance tuning – become available. The role is full‑time, on‑site, and operates on a shift schedule that aligns with the plant’s 24‑hour production cycle.
By joining Oben Electric, you become part of a mission‑driven organization dedicated to accelerating sustainable mobility. Your contributions directly impact the reliability and safety of vehicles that will be driven by thousands of customers, helping to reduce carbon emissions and promote a cleaner future.
