As a Picker & Packer, you become a vital link in the supply chain, ensuring that every order leaves the warehouse accurately and in perfect condition. Each shift begins with a briefing where the day's pick list is uploaded to the warehouse management system. You will use a handheld scanner to locate the exact storage bin for each SKU, retrieve the items, and place them on a trolley for the packing station. Accuracy is critical; a single misplaced item can delay delivery and affect customer satisfaction.

At the packing station, you will assess each product for any visible damage and confirm the quantity against the order. Using appropriate packing materials—such as corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, and sealing tape—you will secure the items to withstand handling and transportation. Proper cushioning and correct box sizing are essential to minimize returns and protect the brand's reputation.

Once packed, each carton receives a clearly printed label that includes the destination address, barcode, and any special handling instructions. You will then stage the cartons in the designated dispatch area, where they are organized for loading onto outbound trucks. Throughout this process, you must adhere to the warehouse’s standard operating procedures, which cover everything from equipment usage to ergonomic best practices.

Safety is a non‑negotiable aspect of the role. You will be expected to wear the required personal protective equipment,



follow lock‑out/tag‑out protocols when operating machinery, and immediately report any hazards or incidents. Regular housekeeping tasks, such as keeping aisles clear and disposing of waste packaging, help maintain a safe working environment for all staff.

Performance is measured against clear productivity and accuracy metrics. Daily targets include a minimum number of picks per hour and a maximum allowable error rate. Consistently meeting or exceeding these benchmarks can lead to recognition programs, shift differentials, and eligibility for internal advancement.

The position operates on a rotational shift schedule, covering early morning, afternoon, and night slots to ensure 24/7 order fulfillment. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work weekends and public holidays. The physical nature of the job—standing for extended periods, lifting packages up to 25 kg, and moving pallets—requires good health and stamina.
