Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Investing Tech Services team supporting a large financial services client in Bangalore, India. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact portfolio of investment and real estate applications currently undergoing modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
The primary focus of this position is on the migration and modernization of existing on-premise Java applications to AWS. The engineer will support the lift-and-shift of approximately five applications, including the firm's most complex application, which manages distribution of product, security, reference, bond, and equity data across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and application modernization. They should have a deep understanding of Spring architecture, dependency injection, application configuration patterns, security frameworks, and cloud-native deployment models. This role will work closely with architecture and infrastructure teams to migrate existing applications with guidance from senior engineering leadership.
-Support the migration of multiple on-premise Java applications into AWS environments.
-Perform lift-and-shift modernization efforts while maintaining application functionality and stability.
-Migrate applications utilizing Spring Boot, Kubernetes, MongoDB, and relational databases.
-Refactor and update application connectivity, configuration, and deployment patterns for cloud environments.
-Implement and support Java-based AWS Lambda functions where appropriate.
-Configure and manage MongoDB connectivity and database integrations.
-Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to deploy and support applications in Kubernetes and AWS.
-Assist with security implementations, including authentication, authorization, JWT frameworks,



and application security best practices.
-Support testing, deployment, and production readiness throughout migration efforts. Skills and Requirements -5+ years of software engineering experience
-Robust hands-on Java development experience
-Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments
-Deep expertise in Spring Boot, including: (Dependency Injection, Application configuration approaches, Spring ecosystem architecture, REST services and microservices, Experience supporting cloud migration, application modernization, or lift-and-shift initiatives)
-Strong AWS experience, including: (AWS Lambda) -
-Strong MongoDB experience, including database connectivity, configuration, and migration activities.
-Understanding of application security concepts, authentication frameworks, and JWT-based security.
-Experience working in production environments and supporting enterprise applications.
-DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
-Experience migrating applications from on-premise environments to AWS.
-Exposure to HashiCorp tooling and cloud migration frameworks.
