Job Title: Head Product Development (PD) & Design- Gems and Jewellery

Job Description

We are seeking a visionary, highly creative, and strategic Head of PD & Design to lead our jewellery brand’s creative direction and product lifecycle. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and commercializing cutting-edge jewellery collections (Solitaires, Diamond, and Fine Jewellery) that resonate with market trends and align with our brand identity.

You will bridge the gap between pure artistic design and manufacturing reality, managing a talented team of manual sketchers, corel draw, CAD designers, and product development specialists to bring stunning collections to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Design Leadership: Define the seasonal and annual design roadmap and mood boards based on global forecasting and domestic market consumer trends.
- Product Development (PD): Oversee the end-to-end product journey from initial manual sketching to 3D CAD modelling, prototyping, and final product sign-off.
- Team Management: Mentor and lead a high-performing design studio consisting of Manual Designers, CAD Specialists, Matrix/Rhino experts, and sample makers.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure the viability, costing,



and scalable mass manufacturing of designs without compromising aesthetic quality.
- Vendor & Factory Coordination: Collaborate with manufacturing units to resolve technical issues during the sample creation (counter-sample) stage, optimizing production time and material cost.
- Collection Strategy: Formulate exclusive high-end collections, everyday wear ranges, and bridal wear line extensions while monitoring performance analytics of previous launches.

Required Candidate Profile & Skills

- Education: Degree/Diploma in Jewellery Design from a premier institute like NID, NIFT, IIGJ, or equivalent international institutions.
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years of core experience in Jewellery Design and Product Development, with at least 5 years leading a team for a reputable fine jewellery retail brand.
- Technical Software Expertise: Strong command over Rhino 3D, Matrix, CorelDraw, Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, and CAD rendering tools.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Gemmology, Metallurgy, Diamond grading, detailing of gold weights, and constraints of fine jewellery setting/manufacturing.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of target pricing, product positioning, and standard margin requirements in the retail jewellery space
