Position Summary

The BOM Specialist is responsible for supporting, improving, and driving adoption of Bill of Materials (BOM) processes within the 3DEXPERIENCE PLM environment. This role partners with business users, process owners, and technical teams to ensure BOM-related processes are effective, governed, user-friendly, and aligned with business requirements.

The position serves as a key link between end users and PLM/IT support teams by resolving process issues, identifying enhancement opportunities, improving data quality, and enabling effective user adoption through training, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide functional support for BOM-related processes in the 3DEXPERIENCE PLM environment.
- Troubleshoot user issues related to BOM creation, maintenance, release, and change processes.
- Support day-to-day PLM operations, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and resolution coordination.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and IT teams to improve BOM processes and user experience.
- Identify, document, and prioritize enhancement opportunities for BOM workflows, structures, and related PLM capabilities.
- Drive user adoption through training, job aids, process documentation, and hands-on support.
- Promote standard work and best practices for BOM creation, maintenance, governance, and change control.
- Monitor BOM data quality and support corrective actions to improve accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Assist with testing,



validation, and deployment of process or system enhancements.
- Support change management activities related to new PLM capabilities, process updates, and user onboarding.
- Track and report support trends, recurring issues, adoption challenges, and process improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to governance and compliance for BOM-related data and processes.

Required Qualifications

- Experience supporting BOM, product data, or PLM-related processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE and/or other PLM platforms.
- Strong understanding of BOM structures, product lifecycle processes, and engineering change management.
- Experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders and end users.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain process and system concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience creating training materials, work instructions, or user documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with engineering BOMs, manufacturing BOMs, and product configuration processes.
- Familiarity with change processes such as ECO, ECN, and release management.
- Experience in PLM operations, user support, or business process ownership.
- Knowledge of data governance, master data quality, and process controls.
- Experience supporting system enhancements, UAT, and release adoption.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
