Job Description: Civil Engineer

Location: Gharda Chemicals Limited, Dombivli MIDC

Department: Projects / Engineering

Reports to: Head of Projects / Engineering

Qualification: BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience: 2-5 years, preferably in a chemical

Purpose of the role:

Plan, execute, and maintain civil and structural work across the plant, ensuring quality, safety, and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities:

Supervise construction of plant buildings, equipment foundations, pipe racks, tank farms, and structural steel work.

Prepare and verify drawings, BOQs, estimates, and work schedules.

Oversee acid-proof and chemical-resistant flooring, lining, waterproofing, and repairs.

Maintain roads, drains, effluent and storm water channels, and boundary walls.

Inspect existing structures for stability and coordinate repairs.





Verify contractor measurements and running bills, and check material quality.

Support Factory Act, MIDC, and MPCB-related approvals, drawings, and stability certificates.

Enforce safety rules for height work, excavation, confined spaces, and hot work permits.

Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and HR for work permits and contract labour.

Maintain project documentation and progress reports.

Skills required

AutoCAD and MS Office

Knowledge of IS codes and RCC and steel structures

Estimation and billing

Contractor management

Awareness of industrial safety norms

Preferred

Experience in a hazardous chemical or MIDC plant

Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 requirements
