Job Summary
The Manufacturing HR Manager leads the human resources department for a factory or production plant. This role acts as a strategic partner to plant leadership. Responsibilities include managing the full employee lifecycle for hourly and salaried staff, ensuring strict adherence to labor laws, and promoting a safe, productive shop floor culture. [1]
Key Responsibilities
- Labor Compliance & Relations: Ensure adherence to regional labor laws, wage regulations, unions, and industrial safety standards. Handle worker grievances and lead dispute resolution. [1]
- Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Forecast staffing needs for shifts and production lines. Oversee high-volume sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of factory workers and staff. [1, 2]
- Health, Safety, & Training: Partner with operations and safety teams to enforce workplace safety protocols and conduct mandatory training. [1]
- Performance & Retention: Manage performance appraisals, monitor turnover and absenteeism metrics, and build engagement initiatives. [1]
- Compensation & Payroll: Administer competitive wages, shift allowances, and perks packages in coordination with finance goals. [1]
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Industrial Relations (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years working in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial setting.
- Core Skills: Deep knowledge of labor laws and factory acts, strong conflict resolution, data tracking (absenteeism/turnover), and HRIS proficiency
