Role & responsibilities
The Technical Architect / Team Lead designs and leads solutions across Cabinetworks Group's ERP landscape: Unidata, Oracle EBS, Decade and Smart ERP, plus the integrations that connect them. The role understands our business processes end to end, from order entry through planning, manufacturing, shipping and finance, and turns business needs into explicit requirements and sound solution designs.
This is a technology-agnostic role. Languages and platforms are tools; the job is to solve the problem the right way. The architect uses AI tools every day for design, development, code review, documentation, testing and troubleshooting, and helps the wider team adopt the same practices.
Principal responsibilities
Architecture and solution design
- Act as technical architect across all four ERP platforms, designing solutions that keep systems integrated and consistent.
- Produce solution designs, integration patterns and data flows that account for upstream and downstream impact.
- Assess build, configure or buy options and recommend the approach that best fits the business need and long-term architecture.
- Support modernization initiatives, including legacy application migration, platform upgrades, infrastructure decisions and AI enablement.
Business partnership
- Understand manufacturing, supply chain, sales, distribution, inventory and finance processes end to end.
- Lead requirements discovery with business process owners and translate needs into clear requirements and designs.
- Bridge business and technical teams, explaining trade-offs in plain language to both.
- Identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, and propose practical options.
Technical leadership and delivery
- Lead and support technical implementations, working hands-on and directing other team members.
- Review designs and code across platforms for quality, security and maintainability.
- Own testing strategy for major changes: unit, integration and coordination of user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues that span systems, and drive root-cause fixes.
- Support rollouts to plants and business units, including post-go-live support.
AI-enabled ways of working
- Use AI tools daily across design, development, code review, documentation, testing and troubleshooting.
- Build and share reusable AI practices, prompts, checklists and agent workflows with the team.
- Coach US and India team members on effective, safe AI use and help build AI into the delivery pipeline.
- Contribute to AI proofs of concept and help turn successful ones into supportable production solutions.
- Follow company standards for security, data handling and approved AI tools.
Collaboration
- Work effectively across teams, platforms and time zones.
- Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Keep architecture documentation,
decisions and standards current and accessible.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years in enterprise applications or ERP, including design or architecture responsibility across more than one platform or major system.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain business processes, ideally in discrete manufacturing.
- Hands-on technical ability: comfortable reading and writing code, SQL and integration logic on multiple stacks.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI tools (for example GitHub Copilot, Claude or similar) in real delivery work, with sound judgment about verifying output.
- Experience designing integrations (APIs, EDI, file-based, middleware) between enterprise systems.
- Experience leading or guiding technical team members, including distributed or offshore teams.
- Strong analytical, structured problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience with one or more of: Oracle EBS R12 (manufacturing, supply chain or order management modules), UniData/UniBasic, Progress OpenEdge, .NET, Python.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications or migrating them to recent platforms.
- Familiarity with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building AI agents, RAG solutions or MCP-based integrations.
- Prior experience in cabinet, furniture or building-products manufacturing.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process-improvement background.
