- Use specialist equipment for tests and examinations.
- Provide advice and reassurance to patients.
- Offer help and advice for patients choosing frames and lenses.
- Work with opticians in community practices or hospitals.
- Keep up to date with current developments in eye care.
- Develop excellent hand-eye coordination and a high level of attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to explain test results and concepts to patients.
- Degree in Optometry; state license to practice.
